| Psychopath Registered: Mar. 01  | OK - I know that some miss ROTTY's old FTP server. I have asked my IT person to set up an FTP server at one of my offices. He has done so. Here is the thing - This is my company - I need to run the company and business has to come 1st so I may have to shut it down during business hours if you all pound it and I can not get work done. WIth that said - Enjoy (Please only upload shows for now until I can get a new 10GB drive dedicated to this server) ftp:\\208.57.210.134 username: oanda password: oanda F-Off F-Tards!! Note to Newbies newer then me - An FTP server is not a live stream but a nice happy meeting place to get caught up on missed shows. | ||||

| Hanger-On Registered: Oct. 00 | Actually devs, you can play the file while you are downloading it if you use Winamp or Windows media player. It works essentially the same as streaming live, but it is obviously a pre-recorded show. Just Left click on the link and it should open up in your default MP3 player. | Psychopath Registered: Mar. 01 | It is set up so that anyone can download from a browser. The OANDA logon and password is required to connect to the ftp server to upload new shows (something that someone else will have to do since I live in Atlanta!!) I put some security into it so some F-Tard will not F-Up my server. Besides, if I did not install a firewall how could I keep South Florida from getting this stuff??? Any ideas, comments, suggestions on how to make this site better or easier are accepted and encouraged. | ||||

| Psychopath Registered: Mar. 01 | This site is up and stable - I am looking for some uploads to test and make sure that it is working well. I have included FTP Explorer (File Name FTP1010.zip)for anyone who has files to upload and does not have and FTP program. Please note that you can only upload to the UPLOAD folder and you need to use oanda as the logon and password. I will move these files to the root folder daily. I hope this helps everyone. | Psychopath Registered: May. 01 | Mulligan, great FTP, i love it. I've been waiting for someone to replace rotty's FTP for a while. I'm in the process of uploading from Monday's show to today's. The speed I'm getting is about 35K. Only one downside, the shows that i encode usually come out to 80-100MB. (I find that format to be the best quality) Any questions or comments, email me! | ||||

| Psychopath Registered: May. 01 | Solution 1 to the MP3 size problem: get WAV decoder, decode the mp3, then re-encode into MP3 again (under a lower format, anything under 44KB, 32KHz) Solution 2: When capping the show, save the MP3 under anything 44KB, 32KHz. The size should be reduced to under that i have. (I use total recorder, very easy to do) Solution 3: Save the capped shows in WAV format, then use a WAV editor to cut out all the commericals. This should also reduce the size. Solution 4: If no one have any idea how to do any of that, i will "try" to do that next time for Friday's show before i upload it to the FTP. No promises. | ||||

| Psychopath Registered: Aug. 00 | my saved broadcasts come out to be about 7meg an hour... Encoded at 16kbps/11hz ... A commercial-less O&A show "should" be about 21 to 25meg ... | Psychopath Registered: May. 01 | Ugh, just finished with the show. I gotta say, the quality REALLY suffered because i cut down the file size. Very hard to make out what O&A are saying... For the people who's going download the file, i suggest playing with winamp's EQ to make it sound clearer. Future show will prob be encoded at a higher rate, sorry people. | ||||

| O&A Board Regular Registered: Jan. 01 | Not to be a pain in the ass mulligan, but I wanted to let you know I tried to d/l the 6/11 through 6/14 shows (6/15 worked fine) and I was inable to get anything - my browser brought me to a "page connot be displayed" page. Is it something with my method (straight browser access to the ftp) or is there something wrong with these specific files? I am able to get other clips out of the other various folders, so I don't think its a browser issue, but I thought it better to ask than assume. By the way, if I haven't already done so, HUGE thanks to you for doing this! I know its not an easy undertaking, but it is greatly appreciated! | Psychopath Registered: Aug. 00 | I would love to contribute to the FTP... although being on a dialup modem makes that kind of hard... Let me ask you this - how do you strip the commercials? I have yet to find an easy way ... I use Goldwave... and just select times in the show (about every 20 mins) until I hear either my own programming, or commercials... | Psychopath Registered: May. 01 | Chuck, i really don't think there is an easy way of editing out the commericals. I'm pretty sure your way of listening and editing at the same time is the only way. Unless someone comes up with a program that can predict when O&A wants to take a commerical (which is impossible, who knows when those guys decide to take a commerical break??? they don't even know half of the times), it's impossible to do it the easy way. (I use sound editor from adaptec, but i guess any wav editor will get the job done) | ||||

| Psychopath Registered: Mar. 01 | Thank you hornygoatweed23 for being a pain in my ass and bringing this to my attention. I moved some directories around and guess I forgot to reset the permissions on that folder. I just refreshed the directories for your downloading pleasure. If this happens again you can go to File > Login As > Username: oanda and Password: oanda and it should let you download. Let me know if it works OK for you. Chuck217 - I can't think of any better way to do it other then the way you do either because sometimes O&A get off on a rant and blow through 2 commercial breaks and then take a long one to get caught up. TrAnCeFoRcE - Thanks for the uploads. If you have any old show archives that you want to put up I would be happy to host them. I will keep an archive doc so people can request old shows if they want so I can put it on the server for temp download. That way I can keep current shows while saving disk space. I think I will keep 2 weeks up at a time. May be more depending on the server space till the new drive gets here. | ||||
