As a Yankee fan, I wish that that Yanks had won all three games against the Mets but the better team won this series. The Mets played really well all three games and could easily swept the series.

Hats off to the Mets. See you in Yankee Stadium.

This is how you demonstrate you are retarded. No, Assholes rub shit in faces. Real yankee fans like Teenweek & mikehearn appreciate good baseball.
You have a problem with me saying That I won't be concerned with Yankees except for next week and October? Asshole. I am actually giving the Yankee players props for their play, and predicting they will either be in WS or close. How you could possibly take offense to that is beyond me. If only you could act with the same class as your beloved team.

Your posts consists of "everybody says", "everybody knows", and you are usually wrong. Take a cue from the other Yankee fans here and learn about baseball and life in general.

I was laughing so hard when Estes missed Clemens big posterior. I give Estes credit, he was not aiming for his arm or his head but Clemens' butt. The moronic Mets fans who were pissed that Estes did not hit him or try to hit him at his 2nd at bat are fucking morons and they should all be hit in the head by bats. Also Rob Dibble is a fucking loser. I hope he dies of ass cancer. The Mets ended this feud with their bats. They humiliated Clemens with Estes and Piazza hitting homeruns off of him. This should be over now. You could tell Clemens could not pitch his normal game because he was afraid of pitching inside which is what makes him intimidating.

Hey the Mets were the better team this weekend. I concede that. The way the Mets have played this season though, this might have been there World Series. Lets kick the crap now out of Colorado and San Diego.

On a side note, just to show what a bunch of sissy bitches Red Sox fans are. I was reading the ESPN messageboards and they were complaining about how the Yankees were playing an inferior under .500 Mets team and the Red Sox had to play the Braves. As a Yankee fan, I would honestly say the Yankees would have won at least 2 out of 3 against the Braves because the Mets vs Yankees is always close and the Mets play their best baseball against the Yankees. This shows what pathetic losers the Red Sox and their fans are though.

Well said.

Hitting Clemens might have hurt him for a while. The way that the Mets beat him will hurt him longer.

I agree that the yankees would have probably beaten the Braves, and that Red Sox fans are idiots for the most part, but no way the Mets play their best baseball against the yankees. This was the 9th Subway Series between the two teams, and the Mets have now won 2 TWO! series' to the Yankees 7. There has never been a sweep at least so the Mets are only 5 games behind.

FB, I was actually trying to give the Mets a compliment. They may lose most of the time, but the games are always close and are usually determined in the late innings. Saturday was the first blowout in a while by either team.

Teenweek,
a couple of things.
1) I don't think it was Clemens not being able to pitch inside as much as he doesn't usually do well against Mets (2000 WS game being very different).
1999-2001:vs. NYM
ERA=9.43 W=1 L=3 GS=4 IP=21.0 H=34 HR=5 AVG.362

No reason for this; just the way it has been.

quote:

Mets play their best baseball against the Yankees

I got what you meant. As FB said, if they REALLY played their best baseball they would have won more, but yes, almost all of these games are within 2 runs.

Game 1 & 3 of this series were examples of why baseball is a great game.

I know I am going to regret posting this, but I found this was very interesting article in the Newark Star Ledger:NJ
bergen record

quote:

Giambi and Vaughn are friends, and Friday night Giambi and Jorge Posada told Vaughn he didn't look right standing at the plate. Vaughn has been fiddling with his stance all season, and discovered from old tapes that his stance used to be more open, his front foot slightly toward first base. Vaughn used that stance last night.
submitted for your approval.

Yeah because its the one that really counts.
Roger really silenced his critics with his game
2 performance against the mets and game 3
and 7 last year.

I have to give mets fans ALOT of credit. While
there was two on, no outs, the "yankees suck"
cheers bellowed through shea. But once mo
hit that homer, the cheers turned to "lets go
mets." The mets fans have been soo close to
catching boston-itis, but that display showed
they have not brought the curse upon
themselves. I completely forgot about that until
a fellow yankee fan reminded me today.
Kudos to the fans at the game. (PS- it was not
prompted by the scoreboard)

PS - Shawn green his 4 consecutive
homeruns against the angels this weekend.
they beaned him. No press conference.

who here has said anything like "Met's suck"???

Once again you remain the only "person" who can not respond in a responsible manner. All Yankee fans should be embarrased that you are on their side.

PD, go fuck yourself. You and the rest of your
"baseball didn't exist before 1986" posse. I
was trying to pay the mets fans who were at
the game a compliment, which you somehow
turned around into an insult.

You fucking no-nothing mets fans are out of
your minds. Do you know who lefty grove
was? go look him up. He used to dust HIS
OWN TEAMMATES DURING BP. Don't fucking
tell me about the mets and their sad-sack
excuse for baseball ettiquite. Rob dibble may
be a dumb fuck, but he hit the nail right on the
head. Estes embarrassed himself on
saturday, and clemens laughed in his fucking
face. The Mets didn't get the last laugh -
clemens did after he showered, and polished
his 2000 WS ring and chuckled - probably at
the same time bobby V was telling the media
how "sweet" it was to see roger leave the
game.

The mets and their fans can squeeze this
series win so tighly while convincing
themselves that it actually means something..

Anyone who agrees with Rob Dibble is a prick, especially after what he said about Estes. I happened to watch that debacle on Baseball Tonight. I wanted to beat that stupid look off his face repeatedly. Who the fuck does Dibble think he is anyway? He is a no good flash in the pan son of a bitch. JohnSlack, you and him deserve each other.

I love this shit. Rob Dibble is equally as
useless as Joe Morgan, but you hate one, and
quote the other. WHy? Oh wait, Rob Dibble
ripped the mets, and morgan said something
that supported PD's weak claim.

The symbolism of "New York, New York"
during the 7th inning stretch at shea was
perfect. An inferior copy of a man named
Frank Sinatra performing an inferior copy of
the song for a NY team which is the inferior
copy of the Yankees.

What about next weekend, we all turn on each other again. Yankees play Mets and Atlanta plays the Red Sox. So as a Yankee fan, Fuck Atlanta until next weekend when I want a Braves sweep. Heck I will even cut the Mets fans some slack. Let them sweep Atlanta this week and lose 2 out of 3 to the Yankees. This way everyone is happy, the yankees pick up more games on the Red Sox and the Mets pick up 2 games on the Braves.

This series has lost a lot of juice. Mets have a lot of other things to worry about.

Best hope for a good series is that most of the games have been close.

TONIGHT, 7 p.m. YES, CH. 11

TOMORROW, 1 p.m. Ch. 5

Im definetly all for 6 matchups a year between the Mets and Yankees but it loses a little luster being that these series' are so close together, just 2 weeks apart.

It would be much better if it was the way it was before last year, where the series are separated by a month, it gives you time to refocus and put the past series behind, and move on.

What a great day for the Yankees. Boston loses. The Yankees win (theee Yankees win!), and we knock the Mets around while we're at it.

The series has lost a touch of juice, but it's still fun to listen to the crowing that goes on when either team wins.
