I tried listening to Thursday, I even got thier newest cd. I don't get the reason people like this shit. I think I would have been better served buying an old Judas Priest cd. They just suck major ass.

I can't believe you said ALL the music (except Tool) has sucked in the last decade.

That is the most narrow minded statement about music that I've ever heard. Sure theres alot of suckdom out there, but ALL of it?

The 90's sucked alot. Not many great bands actually made it through the shit filter. Most of, not all of the new bands just ate a big shit pie. Too many one hit wonders and shit. Tool's major problem is they try so hard to make such an epic out of every song that it gets rather bland quite quickly. Laterus has three good songs and the rest is just a bunch of jumbled pig vomit.

I have to disagree. While most of the Dead and Phish stuff isn't radio friendly because of length, there's some really great music from them. But again, to each his own.

Take the top 20 album list I did. There was someone who's list consisted of ALL heavy metal bands. Sepultura, Slayer and the like. Personally, I love alot of stuff, but to put all of them on a list of the top 20 albums ever is somewhat narrow minded. Saying that the Dead and Phish don't create music is just absurd. You can say you don't like it, but you can't say it's not music. Forget their album songs, some of their live stuff has some of the most amazing Jam's that you will ever hear from ANY band, ever. Sure, you can't mosh to it, but that doesn't mean its not music.


Hey Sean, I thought I was the only one that felt that way. Sure Tool has a really cool sound, but why does every song have to repeat over and over for 9 minutes?

Be more original.

I hate The Greatful Dead.

Laterus crashed and burned for me. Almost as big as a disappointment as Astro-Creep.

I agree with Astro Creep. But, he did something new (years ago) and now thats his niche. Same thing with Tool.

jam bands....i hate them with a passion...from the greatful dead to pish they all blow.

I was a huge dead head for years back in HS. Then one day I woke up and realized that they were really doing pretty much the same thing over and over. Great jam's, but nothing new.


Coincidentally, I also stopped smoking drugs the same day I realized this.

I think Tool's DVD box set is way better than Lateralus. More experimental. And at $20 for the album and the DVD with their pre-Lateralus videos on it is a pretty good deal.

I am totally with VG on that one. Play a fucking song and end it. Thank you.

Whats the big deal about Ani DiFranco anyway? I mean cmon, so what she has sold a few million records on her own label and has become well known without any promotion or real radio play.

i for one think thats quite an accomplishment, shes simply amazing :loveya:

Ani is an amazing songwriter, and lyricist. AND she does it all on her own. Theres not alot of great singer/songwriter's out there anymore.
