Well if it comes down to a vote I vote for Okracoke but damn it's gonna be a lot of work to make it into a fortress.

mmmmm beer

sorry got side tracked for a moment..

I think in the long run not having to deal with Michigan winter will outweigh the effort necessary to build the fortress.

Speaking of which, I can't believe we're on page __ and we haven't discussed the idea of making sure we get a good brew master.

Any members have experience with home brewing ?

A friend of mine up north a bit does quite a bit of home brew and it's pretty good, plus he's a sort of outdoorsy jack of all trades type.

Are we kicking the other people off the island or letting them stay and making them our bitches ?

I've never been there, but I think a South Carolina Island Winter isn't going to be the tropical paradise that some of us may be imagining, I do think it will be easier for us to make our living there and the winter should be milder than northern Michigan

Krystal, I think you'll get all the cuddling you want,

Jesus, I go away for the weekend, and the thread goes nuts.

I think Ocracoke Island would work. My family vacations down there, so I guess I have knowledge of the lay of the land. My question is (with only skimming the thread for details), how are we going to get food down there? I'm not very good at fishing, and I don't think that eating the Ocracoke ponies will fly with some of the survivors.

Everyday you reinvent yourself into a bigger cock-shite than ever. It's incredible. I don't know how you do it. I admire you.

I think that this situation absolutely requires a really futile and stupid gesture be done on somebody's part.

I can fish, but I think the ponies will have to die anyway, we can't chance pony zombies those would not be cool.

I don't know according to all the zombie info out there animals can be infected, but most will die instead of become zombies. We could keep the animals around unless we saw zombies somehow coming towards us, then we would be wise to kill them all.

Do you know how much farming they are able to do on that little island? I know that would be a must for any long term survival plan on Ocracoke. Are they able to grow any type of fruit's or vegetables?

I think it just depends a lot on who I'm cuddling with. It takes a lot for me to not flinch (that's not really the word I'm looking for, but the closest I can think of) when someone tries to touch me. I'm even worse when someone decides to hug me. But I can cuddle.

No. I've always wondered how I came about my rather strange sensibilities. You would also think that I'd be used to being around people considering I have (had?) two brothers and a sister and my parents, but I'm not.

If something had happened to me when I was younger I must have severely suppressed the memory. I think it's just the way I am.

I think that subconsciously I feel that to be touched is too intimate for me to do casually. Maybe this is why I don't date. Someone expects to touch me. Who knows.

I'm thinking we need rally sites for all of the listener areas.

Just off the top of my head I'm going to say the parking lot at Celebration Cinema SOUTH will be the rally / meeting point for the West Michigan listeners.

We'll need a person in charge for each of the listener areas, and you'll all have to come up with the best spot to meet up.

Once the outbreak occurs, and you're 100% sure it's the real thing go grab all the supplies and firearms and food and whatever else you can get.

Take your supplies and people to the rally point and give everyone 48-72 hours to get there.

I suggest leaving as a big group, but maybe smaller groups are a better idea ?

Things we need:

Cargo Trucks
Gasoline
Food
Hand and Power Tools
Firearms and ammunitions
Non-Fire arms, swords machetes spears etc
How to books
farm equipment
seeds
porn
motorcycles for scouting and recon
people with skills and/or skillz
strippers
and not to mention our band instruments
walkie talkies and or radio communication equipment
Batteries and solar chargers
Everything in a grocery store that has a shelf life longer than 5 days (Get thefresh stuff too, we'll eat that first on the way down)

I figure we'll take one main caravan and have 3 or 4 scouts out ahead ? This partof planning is really more for the ex military types among us

And, maybe we shoule appoint 1 person per type of store that we need to acquire supplies from ?

Like rather than all of us hitting the gun shop at the same time, I'll hit Home Depot, MAd Dag hits the Gun Shop, Orzo hits Meijer etc ? If wedo it this way our first stop is Uhaul for trucks and we'll split up into teams for the actual "Acquisitioning" of supplies

Once all the trucks are full and we have enough gas, we'll head to the rally point to pick up stragglers, then head out.

Tennessee people, do you want to wait for us to get there ? Or should you head out separately ?

The hardest thing about this plan is the Logistics. We're going to Okracoke, NC but the best way to get there is through a lot of major cities.

Could be a nightmare just getting there.

Yes, good point, everything I've ever read about any big disaster says that the cities are the worst places to be,

So, we really need a good map guy who can get us there without going through any of the big or even medium sized cities

Also, we need to plan for this as well. There will be groups of survivors who want to join us, and my vote is that anyone who has a useful skill and is willing to work hard is welcome, but the welfare system died the day the first undead took a bite.

How will we handle those who are of no use to use.

AND, there will be some humans who are still alive who will try to rob us of our supplies.

We may have to kill the living as well.

This is a hard new world we're heading towards
