		I worked in a pediatrics office.  I ran the lab there.  I also drew blood on many children.  I have seen parents use Emla on their children for blood draws.  Although I have never seen a benefit in using it on the child, it does give the parents some relief.  That being said, I think you're right that the Dr had no reason to refuse to let you try it!  If you can not find a Dr that will get the cream for you, rest assured that she will not remember the pain.  The pre-dosing with Tylenol is great!!
