Riots in Greece
#5
I highly doubt that they are simply rioting about the kid getting shot. From what the articles say, and some of the greek posters on the "boston" link say, that this was just the spark to ignite the riot. They also claim that the corruption in the government there actually send people to start fires and rile people up, so that the rioters look bad and make other citizens vote for more corrupt government control. They also said that not terribly long ago at a "peaceful" protest, 7 cops beat a guy near to death, unprovoked according to witnesses, but they never went to jail, never got charged, and even got raises and promotions. I'm sure there are people that just burn things and destroy property, just because, but for that many people to be upset, there has to be a bigger picture than just a kid getting killed.
