Not to justify peachs behavior but remember they had a physical fight that resulted in at least a computer being broken. I'm not sure he was that nice of a guy. And, as I remember, peachs used to say very nice things about her time with shaun as well, while she was with him. So, I don't think it is all just getting him to be jealous. Give her a little credit. It sounds like she's had a shitty couple of months.
