Don't dish it out if you can't take it. Now a woman who pushes a man to get him off of her or slaps a man because of something rude he has said about her (i.e. calling her a slut, whore, etc.) should not, IMHO, be retaliated against. If a woman decides to buck up and start a fist fight, I think a man has the right to defend himself.
