my first entry level bike was a Trek 820, I got it for 345.00 and put 1000 miles on it in 3 months.

Actually when I do ride, I ride my daughters. Cuts down on the rackage. Really I am just too cheap to get my own.

I sold my Trek in 96 to pay for a summer class, stupidest decision I've ever made. Then about a year or so later when I got my first real job after graduation, I bought a Cannondale, I sold that last year at a garage sale. Looking back, I really wish I had either one of those bikes back.

I have that bike! Got it on sale for $250 in 2004. Unfortunately I lent it to a friend that lost his license and returned it in less than stellar condition.

It works just fine for me. I'm no hard core mountain biker by any means but it gets me where I want to go. I haven't been able to get it cleaned up since he returned it to me last fall. I really need to get on that.

I'm not sure how I got that good of a deal. It was a sale at the Village bike shop on 44th & Kalamazoo near GR. Or is that Wyoming?
