Its an acronym we use in the Army. I didn't know Private Snafu was a cartoon from 1943 - 1945, and Dr. Suess wrote some of the shorts. You can find them on youtube. This one is from "Booby Traps".

I think the Army started it but all the branches of the military use it. I'm under the impression a lot of the slang acronyms were created by the Army. BOHICA, FUBAR, FUZAGI, SNAFUBAR. But I think thats what Army brass wants us to believe.
