Blake, little dick-boy, why don't you change your screen name to Linda Evans, that would suit you better.

No one disputes the fact that Howard is the top dog in the company. D & M took their shot at being #2, but they got beat. They were humiliated. Hell, even Imus is higher on the totem pole than they are. Not that I'm an Imus fan, but at least he's stayed on the air in NY and has a better record of accomplishment than D & M.

Don and Mike look like the guy from OZ that was left naked and bleeding in the gym after Schillinger and his boys got through with him. Its a position I'm sure you're familiar with.

Just another example of retarded O&A Zombie logic.

ES&D. Howard used to be good about 10 years ago then he started sucking up to celeberties and doing the same stupid lesbian bit over and over again and again. Isn't he now ripping off Ron and Fez by staging a boxing match last week.

I thought that bit was called big ass night of fights.

We should be over this by now, but its fun to kick these losers when they're down. I've listened to Geronimo for years talk about his show like it was the best thing ever. Now he has failed in the biggest move of his career. Please, its fun to watch them go down the drain and abuse their redneck fans.

no one's mentioned it, but around 3:30 or so O&A made quick mention. There was someone else in the studio with them in Boston (not sure who), who made a quip about O&A being on another station in DC from 3-7; Ant said no, that's all been resolved. then there was a little quip to the effect that "unlike others who won't be on in NY".

Sorry, I'm doing this about 3 hrs later, and I heard the stuff at work. Maybe someone on SU, or in a tape delayed market can put in the exact comment.

By the way I seem to remember a Blake Karrington posting in Enemies forum some 5 mos or so ago

I hate Stern as much as the next guy, but he did have a fight between Frank Stallone and Geraldo Rivera several years ago....I hate to give the man credit, but that was something he did long before celebrity boxing came along

Im a Stern fan, but I think O&A have a better show right now.

Don and mike was one the radio in d.c and this is what they was saying on monday,

quote:

Monday June 10th, 2002
Back live!
This is the list that Don keeps reading on the show.

1. We didn't walk off the show.
2. Management told them they are not to talk about certain things on the radio.
3. Some subjects are taboo and they can not talk about them on the air
4. Management could have kept them off the air for a very long time, but they didn't want to do that to the listeners

As and aside Leah is off the show because it turns out that she didn't want to travel so much. They still do have the live mic to her home in LA, and may go to it on very random basis.

Also just mentioned (could have been kidding, could have been serious) that they would be surprised if they were on any stations besides WJFK here pretty soon.

Stay tuned for more here.

Well I figured out exactly who D&M appeal to:
1. people who have a John Deere tractor and use it as a primary form of transportation.

2. People who survive by use of supplimental oxygen and ride around the grocery store in those electric carts.

3. People who chew tobacco while humping blood relatives

4. Middle-age golfers suffering from impotency (how's that divorce going Mike?)

5. Serial DUI offenders (way to think about your wife and kid Jackass!)

6. Guys who get gay tattoos on a whim.

7. guys who look like the before picture in the stacker2 ad.

Can this thread please be locked. There is no point in continuing it. It is obvious now, Don and Mike are gone in NY and off WNEW. They are just pulling the radio chick deal again where they play best ofs until they find something better. Like has been stated before. Play fucking Ron and Fez reruns, to build their audience and get people who cannot listen at night to listen during the afternoons. How about just replay the entire show from the previous night to stay current.

Don and Mike are done in ny just as thread should be done on this messageboard. Rocko is more of a concern to O&A than DOn and Mike are now and look how dead he is.

I actually tried to edit my post last night, but I got a server time out.

Blake has posted 27 times over since last summer and has been reasonable most of the time. Yeah, he looks at things from a Stern point of view, but he has not been a zombie.

I gotta tell you though, Blake, the victory post did come off as pompous and irrelevant since O&A have admitted that Stern has more infinity power than they have.

Three things:

1st - Why can't Infinity pay me not to be on radio in NY?? I'd gladly not go on the air right now in NY, in exchange for the kind of money they are going to be paying Don and Mike.

Next, with ratings that are half as bad as Don and Mike, how much time is WNEW going to give Farell?

Finally, can I be the first person to start the O&A vs. MONSTERS OF THE MID-DAY thread?

2. D & M didn't mention O & A at all yesterday, O & A continue to take little jabs at D & M

3. D & M are GONE in New York, and may be off soon in Philadelphia, O & A remain on in all markets

This is the dumb logic Im talking about.

1. OK. They called it a war.

2. I dont think you got the point yesterday, they cant talk about them. What do you think they meant when they kept repeating "We cant talk about certain things" and dumping on callers? Whether the gag order was issued by O&A I dont know, but its apparent that managment does not want them continuing the battle, similar to the O&A/Stern deal.

I like the Don & Mike Show, but Im honestly not much of a fan. Ive listened to them maybe a dozen times since their debut in Philly.

And I dont look at things from a Stern point of view, Im honest about the pros and cons of every show, including Sterns and O&As. Its just that most of the stuff here is one-sided and I present the other.

Has anyone seen this at DCRTV.com?

Please say it aint so Opie and Anthony.

Could Country Bump D&M From NYC? - 6/9 - Rumblings today that Infinity's NYC hot talker WNEW-FM may pick up the country format, recently dropped by the NYC area Y107 quad-cast, and give the heave-ho to "Don And Mike" in middays and "Opie And Anthony" in PM drive. WNEW could use a ratings jump-start - and a good-signaled country powerhouse (something Y107 didn't really provide) may just be what Infinity and the Big Apple ordered. If it happens (and it's not a done deal yet), would O&A go to another NYC station, a la alternative rocker WXRK, where Howard Stern does AM drive? And what about D&M, now on WNEW middays? Back to PM drive on DC's WJFK? Hmmm.....

Linda, linda, Linda. *sigh* What don't you get about this? D & M have a gag order, O & A apparently don't, what does that mean to you? This is like saying, "Well, Tyson did'nt lose the fight, he was just down on the canvas for 10 seconds, and the referee wouldn't let the fight go on."

And once again, there's no shame in being a Stern fan, he's accomplished a lot, certainly more than D & M. Be proud, stand up for your man, don't slink away.

Frankly, I could care less if O&A move to another station. I listen to 102.7 because O&A are on that station, I don't listen to O&A because they are on 102.7. As long as I can hear them, hopefully in the drive-home slot, I'll be happy.

I read that yesterday as well. It feeds into something I said long ago, that if D&M go, the others will be soon to follow.

There are only so many of these shows they can keep putting up there to try and find something (anything) that works.

If D&M go and they put on Monsters of the Mid-day, how long will they give that show. And if Farrell doesn't click soon, how long for him too??

Jeremy only knows one format, and if it doesn't work there, he's back to Washington - they will implode the station, and change formats from top to bottom.

O&A will be all right - they will find a home somewhere. Don and Mike will be fine - a failure in NY isn't going to impact them, with their network and track record. Farrell has been fired so many times, he will find someone to pick him up and laugh like a maniac whenever he says "Shake it up." Ron and Fez...well, they may be screwed if this happens.

In a perfect world, they (and by "they" I mean WNEW and Infinity) should stop being pussies and put O&A up against Stern, and let them talk about each other. Put Ron and Fez on after them in the middays - put Don and Mike in the afternoon - put the Sports Junkies (out of Washington) from 7-11, and then Scott Farrell on at night - and then LEAVE IT ALONE and let them find their audience.

While there are a lot of people who like all of the shows, the truth is that the same people don't have to listen to all of the shows. In a market as big as NY, they all should be allowed the time to do it and find their listeners.

It took Stern years to find his listeners in Philly, and even longer to reclaim Washington. All of these shows (each and every one) can succeed in any market in any state in the country, if they have the time and the support of the station.

And, if all else fails, just go to a 24 O&A station, like the one in Lexington, Kentucky just did for Stern!

Blake,
It's semantics, but if most of the stuff here is O&A's side, and if you present the other (Stern's for example) you are at least PRESENTING the Stern point of view.

What I was trying to say was that you are being treated as a "zombie" when you are not.
That won't matter to those here that don't want to see anything different from what they were thinking, but most here are fair and may have gotten the wrong impression.

surehappyitsthursday,

I agreed with a lot of what you had to say except...Infinity would be the dumbest company alive if they had Stern and O & A go head to head.

They (Infinity) own mornings with Stern, and Afternoons with O & A. The ultimate lineup would be Stern in the Morning and O & A in the afternoon Like Washington and Philly if im not mistaken?

Admit it, people from NYC and NJ and the Metro area are a little different from the rest of the country (with Philly and Boston close to the same metallity). So its no wonder why a show that is big in D.C. and Sacramento?!?! Failed in NYC.

O&A will find some audience in every market, some bigger than others (Cleveland, NYC, Boston, Philly). They may never do as good in D.C. as D & M do simply because of the listening mentallity.

I know this is dribble, but I just wanted to voice my opintions.

Spelling and grammar don't count with me..im a retart!

Dino_D , you don't listen close enough. When DOn and Mike were taken off the air last week, O&A talked about Don and Mike, but they NEVER mentioned Don and Mike's name. Opie did say don, but he referred to Don as Don Debella, and from then on, they just called Don and Mike "the fat twins" or whatever.

I think that O&A were shut up too.

And employing your logic of whoever has the gag order loses, you concede that O&A have "lost" to Stern.

Veg, I disagree, I probably listen too closely, (like I dont have a life or somethin') I think the "Don Debella" comment wasn't a way to get out of saying Don's name, it was a way to slam Don. Opie was comparing Don to John Debella who used to do a "morning zoo" show in Philadelphia until Howard Stern put him out of business. He lost his show, his wife, left him then appeared on Howard's show, then shortly after commited suicide. There are a lot of similarities between the two shows. Both were run by aging, balding , fat men, and D & M also called their show "The Morning Zoo". He was just using that to mock Don, much like I was mocking Linda Evans by making fun her lack of grammatical skills (not basing my argument on it).
They've also been taking jabs at D & M almost every day, and didn't they play an FU line segment dedicated to Don and Mike.

And Linda Evans, what is your point? I already said that Stern was top dog at Infinity.

You've got nothing.
