For it to be a war, both sides would have to participate, and Howard did not mention O&A verbally during that conflict. Howard "allegedly" does most of his fighting behind the scenes, a la the gag order. So I don't know what you would call it. The only way that O&A will win in any fashion is if Howard finally retires AND admits that his sucessors are talented. Don't bet on that happening.  "You don't know who I am? Fool! | Hanger-On Registered: May. 02 | In a perfect world, they (and by "they" I mean WNEW and Infinity) should stop being pussies and put O&A up against Stern, and let them talk about each other. Put Ron and Fez on after them in the middays - put Don and Mike in the afternoon - put the Sports Junkies (out of Washington) from 7-11, and then Scott Farrell on at night - and then LEAVE IT ALONE and let them find their audience. I dont know if you could call that a perfect world, both shows would be competing for the same audience, and frankly I think OandA are an afternoon. However I do agree with you that the Junkies deserve a little more love because they are sillllyyy. As for Ron and Fez I catch usually the first hour of the replay down here in DC and they do make me laugh. I really hope they dont get screwed if new is imploded. By the way not for nothing, I would love to see O and A go to sterns station.. I HATE CABBIE.... I am a meaty breasted nothing..... He stinks and I dont like him | ||||

Don and Mike are Company guys. Management told them "we're taking you off of WNEW and they said "OK" What happened to the guys that said "Jeremy coleman is _________ and Ken stevens is a backstabbing _________" These guys basically said time and time again that they would pack their bags and move to another radio company. They're pussy whipped and that's the truth. If I was Don and Mike, with all the crap they talk about management being unfair, I would have left ininifty for clear channel a year ago. With the exception of that first day back, I haven't heard O&A return to the constant remarks that started all of this (which is what D&M wanted in the first place). Don and Mike have a contract - if they were to break it, they would have been off the air unable to sign with anyone (Clear Channel, Bonneville, Premiere) until late summer 2003. By that time, even the most hard-core Don and Mike fan will have given up. They said that they would eat a shit sandwich, and they have. My guess is that they knew what was coming, and decided to flame out at a key moment, not guessing that Infinity would be willing to pay them for a year not to be on any radio anywhere. Things change overnight - WNEW just signed a new consultant; a hump, that was fired after 6 weeks at WOR, took credit for Limbaugh at WABC, and obsessed about Stern in the Daily News. My guess is that either when they finally implode the station they (Ken and Jeremy) can blame it on him, OR the guy will begin plugging in conservative talkers in the morning and mid-day spots. (always speculating!) S/H/I/T/ BY THE WAY - I have been for killing this silly thread (Dead, Bed, Head, Sled, Fred, Med, Jed) for awhile now...PLEASE...! | ||||
