I got caught up very quickly.

I did happen to catch that guy on the WAAF afternoon shift one cold day at college. Man he fucking sucked. His shit wasn't even orginal as the boys say. From what I heard on AAF, the boys truely deserve to launch an collective asskicking.

Thanks for responding Ant. The show is great. You have so much more material that you guys could replay that you don't. There have been so many funny things that have never been replayed or like once or twice.

Thanks for clarifying it though.

JohnS it was a thread started by me with my complaint about the show, which he answered.

It makes you feel good, that he actually cares about the audience and he is not a hooknose, small penised jew who hangs out on his private jet and big celebrity restaurants and could not give one fuck about his audience.

No no, you misunderstood..
First, I don't have a problem with the thread. the best part of O&A is they don't think they rule all the time, they know when they suck.

Second, I think its great that Anthony reads the board and posts here. Its good to know they care.

My point was to check every thread where anthony has posted, right after he posts, a whole bunch of people will pile onto the thread, kissing his ass or trying to make a joke that they hope will get on the air or something..

I think one of the reason they play old bits is so new listeners understand the obscrure references they often make.

Clumsy,
this may be true, but personally, some things I hope they continue to let people figure out on their own (or go to Foundry).
Saying like "revert" "serious questions only" "you suck" - these mundane things you can't explain over & over;

As for what bothers me, there really isn't anything so terrible (unlike the tool at 92.3).
Commercial breaks are a necessity. As Ant said, replaying bits is done for a reason. The Boston stuff is kinda interesting in that it explains some of the things that makes the boys tick. This stuff has been building in them for 3+ years; let them blow steam.
Some things will be a work in progress; there have to be changes when going from a local show to a syndicated show - and it will probably be trial & error for some stuff. Remember, O&A are doing this at warp speed; Stern went months and sometimes years between adding cities.

Some bits don't thrill me, but that's life; I can always punch out for a while and then punch back in.

I've been a loyal listener to O&A since day one in NY and have regularly read this message board (which I love), but this is my first post. (Please don't beat me up too much)

One of the things that has annoyed me this week is how rosy O&A are portraying everything at 'NEW. Does anyone else remember when the boys were not allowed to promote WOW and it was up to the O&A army to keep it going? What about the innumerable rants over the years about the management at 'NEW, Infinity, etc.? I could keep going, but I think you get the point.

The thing is, what pisses one of us off could make the others laugh their ass's off(Except the commercials). I don't like Lewis Black, Old Dirty or Sandy Kane but I know lots of you guys do. I love Reagan, Mohr and Breuer.

The overall show rocks and your not going to find more accessible people in show business and that goes to show how much they care about their fans.

If they didn't know what they were doing they wouldn't always win in the end!!

Keep up the good work boys, and Ant we always appreciate your posts.

what pisses me of is after they got syndicated or the new contract deal...they are editing bits and songs they NEVER edited before. like that lynch song the other day... "if i were gay" is it t he dump guy or some retard making new station policy?

*you keep using that word....i do not think it means what you think it does*

The only thing theat bothers me about the show is Sandy Kane and Stalker Patty. Lately they get a little too much airtime. I'm down with the "cringe factor" thing, but it's getting old.

A couple of little things:

Im noticing more and more how useless the 3 o'clock hour of the show is. They really do nothing till 4:15 like Opie said heh. That's to be expected since it is a drive time show and drive time starts after 4 o'clock. Just when they were local only they could spend that first hour talking about the station. The whole contract situation was interesting, too. The first hour of the show for the last couple of months was the bitch about the station, talk about their contract hour. I found that amusing. Now, it just seems like they're killing time most days. Ashley, they dont talk about the station because its meaningless to anyone outside of NY. Thus, unentertaining.

I dont like how their syndication deal was worked, either, because bringing the show on one city at a time necessitates alot of explaining to the "new market" and there's a new market every week. You grin and bear it when they explain Gay Marco....again. You understand its necessary, but its damn repetitive. Woulda been nice if these cities coulda came on in bunches so there would be a little less explanation needed.

What I like about the show:

Starting with a bit. Much better than the two songs. Gets you in the mood for the show. I dont like how they have to reedit some old bits. I noticed the Lynch songs getting bleeped. Coming out of commercials with a song is cool too. Fits in well with the show.

As for the show being better since syndication, its been up and down, as always. Man boob contest, a definite down. Please no more man related contests. Please.

God,I thought I was the only one.
I love the show but its like every day they are having a "slow Show" . Like they have no direction.
Remember the day O&A startes talking about dead bodies,Bud,faces of death? That show rocked. I wished they would let listeners share stories.
It would be like Taxi cab confessions. When they have comedians on they drift off and go through the same shit. Like showing them twato. How many times can you listen to that? When they were at WAAF they had less time to talk so they had no time to waste. I also wish the show had no involvement with sex. I just dont like listening to that kind of stuff. Just what I think.....

Heh. I tape the show, and listen to it the next day on my way to work and back on my PDA. This way I can skip the commercials. On a positive note, the show works great in the mornings... :>

Ive been Listing to O&A since there first month in NY, Ive heard them play the SAME bits for a long time. The problem I have is that they DONT PLAY some of there JUST AS FUNNY bits. Like THe KING GIMP Game , Some of the OTHER Anthony IMUS bits, The Older Dice Bits, When they Goof on "WACKY RADIO"( Like the first hour of the Valentine's day show). SO much Good shit just gets left on the top shelf.
I Also Dont like the NEW EDITED O&A show WTF is that about??? They are Dumping On the guys like Crazy and it was said in an Earler post here that Songs and Bits that they have played for 2 years are now getting Edited....WHAT THE FUCK!
Other then that THe show is cutting edge and O&A will be around for a long time. Hopefully they wont turn out like Don and Mike.

Oh yea!

I really wasn't going to post here, but I feel that I really want to say this. I hope Ant will go back and read this because I want to say "I DONT HAVE ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE SHOW!". Everyone in here is bitching about what they don't like. Fuck You. Don't listen when you hear something you don't like. Then turn it back on in 15 minutes. You're bound to find something good. They change topics and direction so often, I think they can please everyone.
Hey RottenVinny, sorry dude, but I don't think that will ever happen. That is them, they like sex. It's part of what makes them great, they don't hold back. They just talk like guys hanging out.

Theres a few things many of you bitched about.
1. Commercials - Yeah, they are long. But you know what. Some of the funniest bits on the show came from commercials. Remember the Breuer commercials? They were funny as hell. If you only have 1 of those a day, it makes all the commercials worth it. And you know what, go buy some of the stuff they advertise. They are starting to get real sponsors now, and the sponsors will keep getting bigger.
2. The first hour - I dont get to listen in the first hour because of work. But many of you do. Here's something that I've found. O&A are like sex. Even when it's bad, it's still pretty good. Maybe you don't like all the content of the first hour. Refer to my earlier comment about changing the station and coming back again later.

The show rocks. Stop complaining so much and start praising. They do so much right, can you expect them to do 4 hours of flawless radio every day?

The one thing that does get me every once in a while, is the line from Jaws that ant says every time a fat chick comes in (the kitner boy thing). I can't explain why it aggrevates me, but it does. no offense, ant. A little tip for ya, I like to change it up. When I see a particularlly oversized individual, I have 3 lines I usually use. There's "Wow, your fat!", "I bet you eat alot", and my favorite "Hey, fatty!". Feel free to use them, but I will charge you $3.28 every time you do.

As a long time listener, I still enjoy the old bits. I am typical of the listener Ant mentioned. I seldom can listen to the early part of the show and do miss a number of bits.

My only complaint of syndication, and I realize very well that this is life now because syndication = make money, is the damn commercials. It seems to be 5 minute commercial breaks about every 20 minutes. But thats life, and we shall live with it.

As for Boston, I think the boys have every right to wine and dine Boston. There are alot of old friends there that expect to be fussed over. New Yorkers need to remember, all the fun we have had for the last 3 years has been fuled by the need for O&A to return to Boston to kick ass. So lets supprt their objective.

On a personal note, I spend alot of time between DC and Boston. Having them in those markets = life more gooder for the Swallow!

Maynard,

Lets not go down the Stern road and say our "heroes" can do no wrong, ok? Criticizing some small aspects of a show in no way makes us less of a fan. Lets not become brain-dead here and just say "Turn it off if you dont like it tool". We understand that doing a show four hours a day, five days a week will equal some less than stellar shows and some less than stellar hours. Ive been guilty of jumping on people for criticizing the show, too. But a little criticism is healthy, if its not over the top stupid like "They're boring, when do they get funny?"

Maybe the boys should have one or two shows of "primer" that air only in the new markets, so we don't have to hear the legend of Psycho Mark, some cut-up Valby songs or another Rich Voss bit.

One or two "worst-of" shows, to initiate the new listeners, perhaps after one live show.

Maybe?

Maybe I'm just being a tool and typing faster than I can think... again.
