Fuck You Sarcastro. Don't criticize my post unless you read it. I never said they can do no wrong. I said I have no problem with the show.
They're not my heroes either. What Stern road are you talking about? You really need to explain yourself. And as for me telling you to change the station if you don't like it, how is that becoming brain dead? Explain this to me. Because I don't want to entertain an argument about why they don't do the show this way or that way? Is that what makes me brain dead? Why is it ok for you all to complain about the show but I can't say that I don't have any problems with it?

The only thing that bothers me is when they leave things hanging. Does anyone remember the Jack Ass competition. Are there any more Crip Olympic events and what has happen to Teen Carwash.

Does anyone else remember when the boys were not allowed to promote WOW and it was up to the O&A army to keep it going? What about the innumerable rants over the years about the management at 'NEW, Infinity, etc.?

There is a new management at NEW now. All this bullshit was when Scott Hermann was the head, now its Ken Stevens.

I think they should play some of their older bits especially from their first year in New York when many of us were not listening.

What bits? They were too busy purging.
As for old bits being re~edited, there's a new government in place run by good ole George W. They put up some new FCC regulations with more clear cut standards. Suddenly what was okay yesterday, ain't gonna fly today. New bits will adhere to the new regulations, but get used to the old bits being re~edited. Hope you enjoyed them the way they were when you could.

i hear everyone man.especially the people from the tri-state area who been their from the beginning.the old bits are funny sometimes, but i guess we have to sit through them sometimes.i've been a faithful listener for almost 2 years now,so i think that stuff never gets old.i think the one bit that never gets played enough is the bottle rocket out of the peach for britnet spears tickets.now thats a great bit and should be played.

The fucking tread is about what we dont like about the show dick. You wanna come in here and say you've got no problem with the show? Fine. But dont tell me, in essense, to go fuck myself and change the channel cause I wanna air some little problem I have with the show.

As for being a brain dead Stern like fan, telling me, and everyone else in this thread, to go fuck ourselves because we might have a problem with the show and we should just change the channel if we dont like it is being like a brain dead Stern fan in my opinion.

No sarcastro, I only told you to go fuck yourself. Not everyone else. And why is it ok for you to voice your opinion but not me?

It's just "I love you" can mean a lot of things, like "You'll do till someone
better comes along", or "I can't describe how I really feel but I know I'm
supposed to say this", or "Shut up, I'm watchin' TV"...

I love the show, een listening to O&A since they came on Cleveland. The old bits don't really help that much with what's going on, but they do make me laugh. And the only problem I've got is that I feel like a total outsider compared to any town with a depper O&A connection. New York and Boston seem to be the most important markets. Everyone else is just a "syndication underground" movement. Leaves us feeling a little out of the loop. Come visit. Send us Black Earl if you must for a long distance sticker stop....do something so we feel more welcome. No Stlaker Patty or Sandy Kane visits though, please.

When did I say you cant express your opinion? And why are you attacking me for disagreeing with that opinion?

quote:

Stop complaining so much and start praising

Ok, have I missed the numerous complaint posts somewhere? I didnt realize that alot of people were complaigning. Some have complaigned about the commercial load, but thats about it. You say "If you dont like the show, fuck you" you say "Stop complaiging"(in a thread that is obviously about complaiging) I disagree with you. So, why so hostile? Cause I mentioned Stern? Im a cynic by nature with a critical mind. I like to examine things. I think when fans of a show believe its hype and when they stop questioning it they become brain dead. I think a certain amount of criticism keeps a fan realistic about the show. The guys got enough people sucking their nuts, they dont need us to all the time. That's my opinion.

The way your two arguments are flawed, Krebs, are that with the strict time schedule with other cities so both can get their proper amount of commercials, O&A don't have time to allow someone like Breuer, Mohr, or O&G to go off about a product and make it funny. Secondly, if you don't listen to the first hour of the show, how can you even comment on it? Part of my board summary on Thursday is the 3-4 hour, and I can tell you that lately when I need to put in a title for the hour to post it, I look and see that the guys really didn't talk about anything. The 4-5 hour, usually something going on.

As for what bothers me about the show, yeah, to beat a dead horse, the commercials. So I just turn the volume almost to a whisper and wait for the O&A tagline that brings them back on the air. Simple. Other than that, the only thing that bothers me is that I like the show so much I listen for the whole four hours every day. I think what O&A are trying to do is target those who don't listen for the whole time so in case they didn't hear something they can be updated. [Whoops, Anthony kind of said that already. Sorry about that]

As for the beef with the old bits, yeah, most of the time they're good to hear again. Except for those from Demented World. Damn I've heard them way too much. But when was the last time you heard the discussion about the George Foreman Grill, or Spaz being paddled by Black Earl? Those aren't ponderously long but are hilarious. I guess I'm with the majority of the board on that one.

"Glen honey, I have a question for you- what do you do for a living?"

"Hey I have a question for you too- why are you still here?"

You know, what makes them good is what makes them different...

Yeah, I know and understand a lot of us have our pet peeves about the show. There's really nothing you can do... O&A are no longer our "dirty lil secret" of the NY/NJ area. More people are tuning in, and they're trying to appeal to us all.

And I think they're doing a damn good job.

Jim Norton is the thing I hate about the show. I cringe whenever this mooch shows up. He says something funny about as often as Lewis does. He gets old really fast. Ohh he insults people and makes strange similes, what cutting edge comedy...

I like norton. He's got those little lines he pulls out of nowhere and 99.8% of the time they're histerical. He just has a way of putting the perfect punctuation on a situation. Like when garett morris huged sandy kane, he said "I'd rather hug Magic Johnson after he's been rolling around in barbed wire." that just told you exactly how disgusted it was. When he's got nothing to say, he doesn't say anything, unlike that douchebag Voss and a ton of other regulars to the show who just yak like they get paid per word. He's good for the show and has a tool too many comedians don't, timing.

I don't care about old, new, lame or funny bits. I just want to hear O&A talk about anything down here in Florida. Syndication Underground is okay but there is a vast audience down here that needs some good corruption. You guys should not take good radio for granted because there are those who are still less fortunate that are stuck listening to country hicks talk Gator and Buc football, the Motor Racing Network for their Nascar or till the weekends to hear the highly popular fishing show, Outdoors with Capt Bob Dunn and Steve Austin. Oh someone freakin shoot me!!!

Syndication to Tampa when Sick Boy is allowed back on the show.

Give them a break. I've been listening since day 1 in NY. Nobody in the other markets would understand the Carol Miller fights,,"Blah, Blah, Blah,Blah" or WNEW Titanic "SURVIVORS". O&A had a lot of history in Boston that NY just does't get.

Sarcastro I know what you are talking about. I have learned from Stern that you can't trust the media. For example the whole lock the doors we are going to play the whole STP record thing was so hookey. But you know what I can think for myself now thanks to O+A and it's ok because I can tell the difference. So if they go overboard with crap like that i can change the dial.

Jeff sorry about the sig hope this is better.

OK EVERYBODY- everyone is fighting about stupid shit. let's drop it. everyone is just flipping out for no reason. personally nothing really bothers me about the show- i see other people feel differently, thats fine. with the whole boston thing, just think if o/a just vanished from the NY area for 3 years and then came back- wouldnt you want them to talk to us for the whole time. i think the show is going great and in a few weeks we are all gonna be one BIG happy family :):):):)

Nothing really bothers me but I really think there should be a time limit on the "Opening Best Of." Yes it's funny but I'd prefer to get them into the show than to hear 20, 25 minutes of the same material. Save it for a full day best of.

I thought this thread would be appropriate this week during best of's. They are playing the same bits that have been played on every other best of or just recent stuff that they have repeated hundreds of times. How many times have you heard Blind Boxing? Jackie the knife girl, etc?

Why not dedicate a show to the comedians of O&A like best of Dice, Breuer, Jay Mohr, Norton, Regan and Otto and George? Replay when Jay first talked to Gay Marco and than did the bullseye.

How about playing the entire practical joke that Jay Mohr and Airsick did on O&A?

How about 1 or 2 full Spaz week in reviews for a show?

Just mix it up a little. And play some of the long classic bits that people have not heard in a while.
