O&A are obviously everyone's favorite radio show here. I consider them extremely talented and very funny. I try to listen to them everyday from 3-7 or as much as I can. However, every radio show, tv show, movie etc cannot be perfect and has flaws.

I have now been listening for a little over 3 years and some things that bother me about the show is:

1)They play certain bits over and over and over again. I don't care them playing a bit to start the show at 3pm, but during the show is my problem. I think just because they are syndicated does not mean they have to play the same bits over and over again for each market. They were doing this even before they were syndicated. I know some of these bits are funny, but not when you hear them 100 times. Think about how many times you have heard, 100grand call, my name is Bill, Mom I'm in "fill in the blank".

That's really my main problem with them.

I think they should play some of their older bits especially from their first year in New York when many of us were not listening.

What are some things that bother you about the show or you would like to see changed? Hey Anthony checks the board frequently, so give some honest feedback on what you dislike about the show or things that you would like to see changed.

This is not a negative post in anyway. I am basically looking for any constructive criticism that you can find about the O&A show. Hey maybe some of us have some good ideas that can only help the show. Considering, O&A is a very interactive show and they have a closeness to their audience, I see this as only a chance to help the show get even better or stronger than it already is.

I dont see that as a problem, they have to and
will keep on playing those bits because each
time they introduce a new market they want to
update them w/ the latest info about the show.

Yes it can suck to hear the same thing a few
weeks in a row but hell get over it and enjoy
the show.

That was just my pet peeve. I wanted to also make it an open forum for any other possible problems people have with the show. Dry they also played them many times when they were just in New York.

I've been listening since the beginning in NY (Just changed my login to do something different).

I don't mind the replaying of the old bits, Steven Lynch songs, etc. Actually I thought some of the old Spaz week in reviews were some of the funniest stuff I ever heard. As long as its funny, it doesn't get old. But like you said, they have to do it for the other markets.

The only thing I am getting tired of is Boston. I know they have only been on for a few days, and there is a long history there, but being in NY, you get the feeling you aren't being included on an inside joke. This must also be the feeling the other syndicated cities must have towards NY. I am sure it will all fade over soon, but who the hell is Rocko? WAAF? Dave Douglas? Who cares?

I realize thats where O&A came from, but enough already. The only people getting the joke is Boston, and there is still NY, Cleveland, San Francisco, DC, Philly, Chicago, Dallas, Columbus, Sacramento, and Rochester. It was funny the first day, but kinda gets boring every single day.

Anyway, I am sure the flames are coming. But just my opinion.

Get used to it. With new markets being added each week, it's bound to happen. Gotta hook in the new listeners.

I think one of the reason they play old bits is so new listeners understand the obscrure references they often make. For instance....how stupid would the Sandy Cane bits sound if you had no idea where it came from? I know this theory cant apply to every bit they replay but the only way new listeners will ever understand todays jokes is by letting them experience what happened in the past. Thats just the type of show it is.

I could understand your argument about them playing bits over and over. And it does get like that. There are some better clips they could play such as Clinton bits and Regis bits. But most of the bits are too long for their show.

O&A ragging on Boston is a good bit. They get kicked out of Boston and come back after 3 years. They finally get to explain their side of the story to Boston. They are just letting off steam that has built up for 3 years. O&A just can't move on. They have to give WAAF alittle ass wholopin'. This will pass in like a week.

President Clinton visiting Vietnam, shooting out the door of Air Force 1 (from the Clinton in Vietnam audio clip):
Clinton's advisor:"Mr. President, how can you shoot innocent women and children?"
Clinton:"It's easy. Just don't lead'em as much!"

Want to use the O&A EZPass lane? here's how (only for NY listeners, sorry PA):

The one thing I would say about those often repeated bits.....(Hi Mom, specifically) is that they are far from their funniest bits. I have demented world and I am impressed with how far they have advanced comedically. Even during there time here in NY. In the early days a good bit would be replayed a couple times the same day and then often the rest of the week.
I love the come and hang out philosophy they have with guests. When they fill the room with the regulars and have a rank session it is beautiful.
Enough ass kissing I forgot the meaning of the thread.

I love bad guest phone ins (serious calls only)

First of all let me point out that I am a huge fan of the show and listen to it 4 hours mon to Fri but there are a couple things that bother me about the show. 1. Replaying stuff that just happened. For example playing clips from sex for sam, it was good to listen to live but clips by themselves out of context are not funny. 2. Some of the recurring guests like Old Dirty and Jamaican Mike. They are one dimensional guests and they do the same things everytime they come in. How many times do we really want to hear about the size of Jamaican's junk?

I love listening to most of the old bits. I still laugh like a retard at them. Plus you got to give them a chance to take a dump and stuff. As for Boston you gotta let the boys revel in that for awhile. Don't worry they'll be back to the Whore with the tastiest snatch on the block.

**EDIT**

My take on it is if it ain't broke don't fix it. Trust O+A they've done a kick ass job so far and they know what the hell they are doing.

The only thing that bugs me is the Commerical breaks. They starting to run over 15 minutes. Not Good.

As being a fairly newbie when it comes to listening to O&A, I am greatful of the old bits being played. I just wish I can hear the Jay Mohr Phone Sex Call... I hear its funny.

See they have old bits, that I would like to rehear. I only heard the Jay Mohr/ Marco call once.

It is the stuff that gets played hundreds of times that they need to stop. They have tons of bits they can replay.

How about the Dice vs Shane mcMahon phone call, stinky and Spaz pretending they were O&A to those London jerk offs, the perfect crime, Dice's got you last phone calls, jay mohr drawing the bullseye on Marco, just to name a few

A real funny bit that I haven't heard replayed (was it banned for life???) is the Baby Raper song.
Glad the James Taylor DMX song ran when I was rolling tape yesterday.

the only thing that annoys me is that opie always wants to take a break! i remember one day they were on only five mins. and opie says "lets take a break" and anthony chimed back "opie we just got on the air" i thought that was funny in itself.

Opie should stop singing along with the show
opener..... "Oooooooooo-weeeeeeeee
ooooooooo-weeeeeeeee ooooooooo-weeeeeeeee".
Now that's irritating as hell.

As much as I enjoy the show (listening since the WBAB days) I cannot stand it when the guys try to talk to only one market or city...I understand the whole Boston connection but enuff znuff already. Stop mentioning what cities you are on every 20 minutes. As long as the guys are in NY, I could care less where else they are!

Radio is very hard to understand and unless you are in the business its hard to understand why they do what they do. Playing great bits over and over again is a necessity. Not only for the new listeners but for the new ones that they gain everyday even in NY. Someone new turns it on and hears a great bit they are hooked forever. I have no problems with it.

You guys gotta understand that you are the Super Fans. You listen to more of the show then 99% of the other listeners. There are people that are huge fans of the show and they have NEVER listened before 5 o'clock becouse of work. The replayed bits are a lot more calculated then you think. If you notice they never air during the same hour twice. Most people can not listen to the whole show.We replay stuff for them.

>>The only thing I am getting tired of is Boston. Ummm....You now sound like people in other cities who, after 2 days, say "This sucks,I don't get it" You will soon grow to know and hate these tools as much as we do.I can't believe I have to say this to NYers but...Give it time, you'll get it!
See what I mean!?? You feel silly now don't you.
Thanks,
Anthony

Okay, some of the repeated bits get annoying, and I agree, I'd love to hear some of the trainwreck that was O&A NY:Year 1, but overall, there's not much to bitch about...they do the best with what they have, and that's all I can ask for...

It's not funny, my ass is on fire....
Thanks to the lovely Jolene for my sig pic...

It's always funny until someone gets hurt,
And then it's just hilarious!!!
