lately they've jumped the shark for me... I like their earlier stuff, right now I've been listening to large doses of both Dispatch and Ween... It's great when 87% of the population has no idea who these bands are. That's when I truly appreciate them

I think it just makes them a bad live act. There are bands that i'll buy their cds but i refuse to see them live.

Ive never, in the 30 or so shows Ive been to, thought anyone I saw played bad live. Ive seen ZZ Top, Black Crows, Rage Against the Machine, 311, Smashing Pumpkins, Garbage (and when I said garbage>phish, I meant actual refuse),Pharcyde, De La Soul, Beastie Boys, Wu Tang, and tons of unknown bands.

I can agree with that, some bands are just better live bands.. I tend to like a "live act" better, but I can appreciate studio work. Biggest example would be The Beatles, after 1966 they didn't even bother playing live anymore.

Ween isn't that great. Their music is too fucked up for my tastes.
In the shows i've seen i think about 5 of them were bad and the rest were pretty good. of course this is mainly at tours so i don't know if that has anythign to do with it.
ps-311 are great live, saw them with incubus and 2 skinny j's about 3 or so years ago.

Bands I've seen live that suck. Garbage and Wutang. I'm sure there were others but they stand out. The band I like but refuse to see live is Mr Bungle. Also I'll admit I like Korn on cd but I will never see them live. So my bad live act list is subjective and certainly there are those of you out there that would say that those acts are just bad acts altogether.

Ween has their bad nights, but in my opinion they are the most refreshing act in music right now. it's just that idea of not caring what people think and doing just what you love. and Ween is the epitome of that, they break all the rules and experiment with new ideas. I hope to god they stay just like they are, just out on the fringe before they are ruined and neutered.

They remind me of the Dead Milkmen somewhat. Except that their lead singer is still alive.
