This week I've finished the Lord of the Rings Trilogy for the first time (good, long but detailed, I can see things they'll obviously change in the movie) and just finished Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy for the first time which was great last night (I finished it in like an hour in a half) and "borrowed" this compilation of the first five books of the trilogy.

Anyway, what's been on your reading table?

The narrator in Fight Club is the man we will be, Patrick Bateman in American Psycho is
the man we want to be

Nice thread, Ikea.
I'm reading "Notes from a Small Island"-Bill Bryson
And "On Writing"-Stephen King

Just finished "A Widow for 1 Year"-John Irving
(Not his best-go for "A Prayer for Owen Meany", "A Son of the Circus, or "Cider House Rules")

Before that, I reread "Ozone" by Paul Theroux. Incredible book.

Ikea, I also just (re)read the LOTR trilogy, getting ready for the movie later this year (which will probably be disappointing...).

Also, I read "The Fountainhead" by Ayn Rand (great book), and "Foley Is Good" (his first is WAY better).

Currently, it's World Mythology and Carl Sagan's "Billions and Billions."

Yeah, I'm a bookworm, but I don't watch Oprah...

Ghostwriter, maybe? I missed them when they were on O&A, so if that's not the case, then F me. Somehow, I don't see Bret Michaels putting pen to paper...

I am halfway done with Winters Heart, book 9 in a series called The Eye of The World, by Robert Jordan. Its the same genre as LOTR, but IMO much more well written and better. Supposidly there are 3 more books coming to finish the series.

Finished Hearts in Atlantis last week (fantastic book!), then read Lord of the Flies (GREAT BOOK)... Read Animal Farm in 3 hours ... and now am reading Isle Shannara by Terry Brooks, good so far.

Sweet Angel, if you like King style, you should read Clive Barker, I would recommend Imajica or any of his books really.

And Sir Ok...if you liked fountainhead, read atlas shrugged, its just as good!!

I just bought - The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test -- by Tom Wolfe - haven't started it yet.

And I've been trying to finish - On The Road -- by Jack Kerouac - forever. It moves so fast (stream of consciousness), my head starts to hurt after a few days of reading it. :)
