Message from Buzz: Ok. I 've been asked to express my opinions on some songs and, although I am full aware of the fact that opinions are like assholes and everyone's got one, some fools seem to be interested in mine. So here goes.

This is raw...and that's a GOOD thing. It's sludgy guitars and Cookie Monster-esque vocals warm the cockles of my cold little heart. The song's a little long for my tatse but I still have to give it an A+

This starts out kinda of cool, slightly reminicent of Here Comes the Warm Jets era Eno or Magazine. I could almost listen to it if it weren't for the mercilessy repeating chorus. I HATE hearing the same trite lyric over and over and over and over just because the singer doesn't know when to shut the fuck up.

I hate this kind of light rawk crap. It's wat too happy, too sappy, way too crappy for me. What a hideous guitar sound. It's less interesting than the storyline of the worst porno ever made. It's worse than food poisoning.

what defines cool? when you think of the epitome of style and effortless grace, what comes to mind? who is the personification of cool? are you born cool or can you learn to be cool? once something or someone is commonly viewed as cool, does that somehow now make it less cool?

I am going to live in this thread for a while..........

As I was in the library this weekend looking for something to read on my daily commute, I realized I tend to read all the same type of books. Sci-fi, horror, techno-thriller, etc. Think it's time to expand my horizons again and read some different stuff. So, I'm actually going to go through that "What are you reading" thread and look for some good suggestions.

But, I also had another idea. A book club. Basicly, everyone who's interested would join in and every few weeks someone would get to pick the book that the whole group would read and then discuss. Could be a thread about the book, or we could get together somewhere for drinks and talk in person about the book. Everyone would eventually get a chance to pick which book everyone would read, so that we would all be exposed to different types of books.

Anybody think this is a good idea?

the heisman..........in case you don't understand, let's say for example: you're at a bar and you see a chick that you know you have abso-fucking-lutely no chance in hell to hook up with her, but you try to kick it to her anyway. and as you start walking in her direction she notices you and she switches from the "i'm good looking and i know it" mode to "sniper" mode. all in anticipation of shooting you down hard! you walk up to her and make a feeble and futile attempt to chit chat with her and she just dismisses you without saying a word. if you have experienced that then you have been given the heisman.
