How's it hangin'?

So, Friday morning when I left to go to work, I decided to go get some breakfast on the way in... but, much to my dismay Lake Mead Blvd. was shut down with police tape from traffic light to traffice light and there were cops everywhere.

Anyhoo, I was able to get my breakfast and was only 10 minutes late for work. And then I found out why the major cross street by my complex was shut down...

Apparently, some guy thought he would go out in a blaze of "glory" and decided to carjack like 4 people, shoot at police, steal a Metro K-9 vehicle (dog included), shoot the dog, crash the SUV and then kill himself.

The shootout happened about 1/2 a block from my apartment complex, and I slept through the whole thing.

In the end, I kinda wonder how much fun the guy was having while he was doing all this. I mean, obviously if you reach the point of commiting crimes like these, rationale is not a factor. So, he went on a movie-style crime spree and didn't have to go to jail. Sure, he's dead. But, I'd have to imagine death being better than jail. I think you get to sleep in when you're dead, and nobody tries to fuck you in the ass or stab you with a rusty nail.

you fucking idiots who drive through an intersection knowing that there is no fucking way you are going to get all the way across before the light turns red because of all the traffic. So what happens is that in stead of being the first car when the light changes, they end up being stopped halfway through the intersection which causes more traffic going the other way, and then people get pissed off and do the exact same thing in the other intersection. The same people who are so fucking mad and hoking and yelling at the other jackass who caused this mess now do the exact same thing going the other way.

Before you know it's just a giant vomit of cars sitting in the middle of road honking and swearing at each other.

Luckily, I walk so I don't have to deal with the rush hour traffic, but I seriously would love to have a giant laser beam that could just evaporate every single person who is beyond the white line when their light turns red.
