At least they are being fair as to handing out punishments.

Fines handed down

This is the stupidest thing I read though in that article.
Quote: In New York, Mayor Michael Bloomberg said Martinez should have been arrested for throwing Zimmer to the ground.

\"If that happened in New York we would have arrested the perpetrator,'' Bloomberg said. \"Nobody should throw a 70-year-old man to the ground, period. ... You just cannot assault people, even if it's on a baseball field.\"

What an idiot. Here's an idea people, next time one of you sees Mayor Bloomberg out in public, rush him and when you are grabbed and subdued by his security you can sue the city for assault.
Hey, what's good for Pedro Martinez is good for the Mayor, right?
Um... no. You are both essentially wrong, since Zimmer would have been the perpetrator in this case, rushing at Martinez during the fracas...

and the same way anyone rushing the mayor (even if the purpose would be just to get tackled so you can sue) would be the perpetrator of the incident.

If anyone should have gone after Pedro, it absolutely should have been Karim Garcia, and he should have done it at the time. He was the only one hit; he took the high road and opted to take his base.

Anyone going after Pedro an inning or two after the fact is in the wrong, since he had not hit another batter.
It was called trying to make a point Brain.
I'm not saying attacking the Mayor would be right. I'm saying his statement was the stupidest thing ever said. Guaranteed if it happened to him he wouldn't feel the same way.

I would have thought that was when Al Sharpton said, "Hey, I would make a good President", but I digress. Tongue

Bloomberg is learning the political ropes, which say you suck up to your constituents until reelection. Hence the kowtow to us Yankee fans by saying he would toss Pedro in prison for laying his hands on Zimmer.

On a sidenote: Florida leading in the 7th, 3-0. The Cubs-Marlins series has been tossed far onto the backburner in light of everything happening in Boston, no?

In general, most of what flies out of his mouth is stupid.

Yanks/BoSox- rained out tonight
Quote:You seriously are an imbecile.

Yeah, and you're a fucking rocket scientist. Fuck You
So... should Dusty Baker bring a goat with him to Wrigley for Game 7 tomorrow?

For those of you who missed it, the Cubs were leading 3-0 in the top of the 8th inning, with their ace Mark Prior on the mound.

The Marlins scored 8-- let's make that clear, <b>eight</b>-- runs in that inning, and won 8-3.

There will be one game for all the bananas tomorrow, Kerry Wood against about a near-century of gloom.

(Oh yeah, and the Yanks play the early game as a result of this). Big Grin
go.......

You know, you probably could've gotten away with a "Go, <s>fish</s> Phish" post.

I had faith in you. Tongue
A lot of it was that stupid fucking fan's fault. Let the goddamn player of the actual team you are rooting for catch the motherfucking foul ball!

I was seriously hoping to see the other fans in that section kick the shit out of that moron for taking away an out.
Would the Marlins still have been able to rally like that? Maybe, maybe not. Still, the Cubs would have had a better shot at getting out of that inning if not for that idiot.
