This is my attempt at a useful thread.
I like to know why people are the way they are. I know we did nasty habits you have, so here I am looking for more along the lines of the psycological you.
Cons: What keeps you from connecting with other people? What keeps you from accomplishing things? Are you a cynic, a pessimist, or too optimistic?
Pros: These are sometimes harder. What do people like about you? What do you like about you?
<table style=filter:glow(color=green)>PRO</table>
would do anything for my friends
loyal, polite, can keep a secret
easy going, always ready to go out, or up for last minute plans
forgiving of other people's faults
generous
generally excited about things, often in a good mood
good imagination
<table style=filter:glow(color=red)>CONS</table>
can't make decisions
big procrastinator, messy
selective memory
can hold a grudge
competitive on the hey, prone to road rage
moody, grouchy when I'm tired, take it out on other people
secretive, protective of my privacy
no tact, put my foot in my mouth a lot
worry about things I have no control over
read too much into what other people say
prone to instances of airheadedness
don't take criticism well

I just wanted to start a thread with no specific topic in mind.
But as long as I did I want to give a special shout out to my two new board friends Kindred and Sleeper. Though Kindred is more gooder since Sleeper took so long to reply.
that's all.

So you've decided to be evil
This site rules! Try your own plans for whatever evil task you want to employ...
Quote:Congratulations on being the creator of a new
Evil Plan ™!
Your objective is simple: World Domination.
Your motive is a little bit more complex: Hatred for all mankind
Stage One
To begin your plan, you must first seduce a rock star. This will cause the world to sit up and take notice, stunned by your arrival. Who is this evil genius? Where did they come from? And why do they look so good as a brain in a jar?
Stage Two
Next, you will seize control of the Moon (ooh, tides!). This will cause countless hordes of supernatural creatures to flock to you, begging to do your every bidding. Your name will become synonymous with all that is wrong with the world, as lesser men whisper your name in terror.
Stage Three
Finally, you will activate your great supernatural forces, bringing about something that\'s really metal. This will all be done from a Island of Mu, an excellent choice if we might say.
These three deeds will herald the end, and the citizens of this planet will have no choice but to elect you their new god.
Trust us, it'll all come together in the end.

Saudi Arabia. They hate America. The only reason they pretend to like us is because we buy oil from them and hey, money (money money) makes the world go round. But still, President Bush likes pretending to be friends with them; inviting him to this country, abiding by THEIR rules (no women in the air control tower), while they have done nothing for us. 15 of the hijackers came from Saudi Arabia but that doesn't mean they're an anti-American country. They make Palestinain suicide bombers as heros to be honoured but hey, oil can help us forget all that. But in case you didn't know they were good people...
Quote:SAUDIS HIRE GOP SPIN DOCS
May 1, 2002 -- WASHINGTON - Saudi Arabia has hired a slew of D.C.'s most powerful lobbying and p.r. firms - including turning to an ad-buying company that's helped top Republicans - to buff its post-9/11 image, The Post has learned.
One firm, Sandler-Innocenzi, which has worked for the Republican National Committee, recently was used by the Saudis to place TV spots portraying the kingdom as an ally against terrorism, according to the group that won the contract.
Qorvis Communication, which signed a $200,000- per-month public-relations deal with the Saudis last November, sent its commercial-placing job to Sandler-Innocenzi, said Qorvis executive Michael Petruzello.
Despite the company's efforts, several cable TV networks - including the Weather Channel and A&E - rejected the Saudi ads as inappropriate. Some local stations aired the spots.
The Saudis' image in the United States has been hurt by revelations that 15 of the Sept. 11 hijackers were from Saudi Arabia, that it makes payments to families of homicide bombers, and promoted a national telethon to raise money for Palestinian "martyrs."
The Saudi strategy is to "increase awareness" and promote their "commitment in the war against terrorism," according to the p.r. contract with Qorvis.
The firm also lists House GOP Whip Tom DeLay (R-Texas) - sponsor of a strongly pro-Israel resolution in Congress - as a client.
The RNC said it hasn't used Sandler-Innocenzi since 2000.
It's unclear how much the Saudis paid the company. The firm's representatives didn't reply to requests for comment or register as foreign agents with the Justice Department.
The Saudis also have hired the powerhouse lobbying firm Patton Boggs for a flat fee of $100,000 for two months - and recently entered into a one-year $77,000-per-month agreement with p.r. giant Hill and Knowlton, according to foreign agent registration records kept by the Justice Department.
Just eight days after the Sept. 11 attacks, the kingdom paid about $2.5 million to the p.r. firm Burson-Marsteller to buy national newspaper ads, including one expressing condolences.
Lobbyist Jamie Gallagher, a former GOP Senate aide, was paid $20,000 to advise the Saudis for their recent meetings with President Bush and GOPers on Capitol Hill.
Does this bother anyone else?

i thought we could try a thread that stays on topic for at least 50 posts. i dont think it can happen, but lets give it a try. why do you think threads go off topic so quickly? is it because people post off topic just to be able to post something? is it because everyone is so enamored with thier own sense of humor? or is it because the threads here are generally boring and the only way to make them interesting is to go off on a tangent?

Have you developed a board personality? When you post do people expect you to do certain things? I know that I certainly have. People think that when I post threads, that they are mindless drivel. WEll, you may think that, but there is truly a method to my madness. Believe it or not. Is everyone going to understand me? Nope. Oh well. But I can certainly try right?
Look at some people, their personalities shine through, and they are always referred to as the same thing. For example OAS, he always makes sex jokes, and people always joke about him being old. Grumpy, he's always pissed off, and posts like a bull in a china shop, and people make jokes about his mom. K1d, people always think he's trying to piss people off by what he posts. Etc, etc, etc. There's a list I could make for just about everyone. Maybe you like this personality, but I think that alot of people have been falsely expected to do certain things.
Here's what I propose. Let's try for a few days to be someone else. No, not post as a different member. But be YOU. Don't act like you normally do becasue people expect it. Don't act that way because you're on a message board. Let's see the real you for a few days. I'd like to see you all give this a try. I want to see a whole new message board of people here now.
I know theres alot of you that are real, but still, you have something about you that people go back to to poke fun, stuff thats not true, but was made up along the way. For some of you, this is going to be hard to do, but for others, it may be a refreshing start.
Lets see what happens...
