  Box office report for 3/24/02
Posted by: Tenbatsuzen - 03-24-2002, 07:49 PM - Forum: Entertainment Unlimited - Replies (4)

Blade 2 topped the charts with a 33 million dollar opening. Nipping at it's heels was Ice Age with 31 million. ET followed with 15, with Showtime and Resident Evil rounding out the top 5.

Blade 2 got great reviews even though it's a TREMENDOUSLY hard R-rating. It also opened in 600 fewer screens than Ice Age (2700 to 3300).

The other new opening this week, Sorority Boys, made a paltry 4.2 million, coming in 9th.

If LOTR has a good showing at the Oscars, expect it to break 300 million by mid-week. It's teetering at 297 right now.

Another interesting thing; Res Evil came in lower than Showtime, even though it opened on to last week. The dropoff was huge, although Columbia was expecting to make half to three-quarters of it's money from the domestic release, make the rest of it back on world release, and then the DVD (which features nude Milla) is gravy.

Now I've been happy lately, thinking about the good things to come
And I believe it could be, something good has begun

Oh I've been smiling lately, dreaming about the world as one
And I believe it could be, some day it's going to come

Cause out on the edge of darkness, there rides a peace train
Oh peace train take this country, come take me home again

Now I've been smiling lately, thinking about the good things to come
And I believe it could be, something good has begun

Oh peace train sounding louder
Glide on the peace train
Come on now peace train
Yes, peace train holy roller

Everyone jump upon the peace train
Come on now peace train

Get your bags together, go bring your good friends too
Cause it's getting nearer, it soon will be with you

Now come and join the living, it's not so far from you
And it's getting nearer, soon it will all be true

Now I've been crying lately, thinking about the world as it is
Why must we go on hating, why can't we live in bliss

Cause out on the edge of darkness, there rides a peace train
Oh peace train take this country, come take me home again

<center>Digging In The Dirt
Peter Gabriel

Something in me, dark and sticky
All the time it's getting strong
No way of dealing with this feeling
Can't go on like this too long

{Chorus:}
This time you've gone too far [x3]
I told you [x4]
This time you've gone too far [x3]
I told you [x4]

Don't talk back
Just drive the car
Shut your mouth
I know what you are
Don't say nothing
Keep your hands on the wheel
Don't turn around
This is for real

Digging in the dirt
Stay with me, I need support
I'm digging in the dirt
To find the places I got hurt
Open up the places I got hurt

The more I look, the more I find
As I close on in, I get so blind
I feel it in my head, I feel it in my toes
I feel it in my sex, that's the place it goes

[Chorus]

I'm digging in the dirt
Stay with me I need support
I'm digging in the dirt
To find the places I got hurt
To open up the places I got hurt

Digging in the dirt
To find the places we got hurt
[x7]

  Drunken ramblings. - Wooohooo!

for thise that don't know, it;s a five hour diffenrece between NY and London. So, It's kinda fucking late for the city that does sleep. Like 85% of the Pubs close at 11 and you have to go to special pubs and "club pubs" oif you want to hang late.

In other news, I got my ass grabbed by a real live, attractive woman while aI was trying top get to the bar! Woohoo! Nice to be appreciated for a grabbable body part. When she grabbed my ass I smiled over the head s of the crowd that formed between us and she was all embarrassed. So, after I got my beer, tried talking to her, but she was really embarrassed and the music was soo loud.

And now I have new appreciation for DJ's. I still can't stand their music sober, but i have new appreciation for the skill it takes to create their crap. Is it just me, or are all bass beats based on the human heart beat. Is all music based on the human heart beat? Aint it weird when you look down and your foots tapping, but your not even hearing the mudic anymore?

That would probab;ly give fuel to the argument of the ladies and MAynerd in "FU to modeern art", but I still don't see the skill in making a messy bed and calling it art.

Anybody e;se gettign com, pletely fuckin recked tonight? check in motherfuckers!!

  Selling out
Posted by: The Sleeper - 03-24-2002, 12:23 AM - Forum: Noise Pollution - Replies (23)

I found this strip recently and I think it comments well on how people are obsessed with saying that bands sell out because they get on TV or become mainstream

I'm not a big fan of Green Day or Blink 182 (I like various songs by them), but I wouldn't look down upon people who liked them because its too mainstream or something. People should stop worrying about whether liking a band is cool or not and just listen to what they like. Comments?

Bootlegs - Springsteen, u2, dmb - what do you have?
Posted by: Tenbatsuzen - 03-23-2002, 09:03 PM - Forum: Noise Pollution - Replies (16)

I'm a huge boot collector - I have a ton of shit from Springsteen, but I also have some U2 stuff from the elevation tour (including a rip from the DVD) and Dave Matthews...

My favorite is a Springsteen concert from the late 70's that took place at the Capitol Theatre in Passaic. Righteous stuff.

Taxation with representation - Sucks just as much as it did without it.
Posted by: OAS - 03-23-2002, 04:53 PM - Forum: The Pit - Replies (14)

I'm spending my Saturday doing my taxes. God this blows. I wish the IRS would have the balls to at least say, "We are going to fuck you in your ass, and don't even ask us to use a lube."

I need mercy. I need a distraction. Dancing women, large breasts, anything. Please Help!!!!
