Didn't we launch some major offensive in Fallujah and supposedly finish them off? Now we have more airstrikes on the city?
It pisses me off that we went to war for shitty reasons, that we went to war with expectations that we were capable of finishing it quickly, and that we send soldiers off to die without proper supplies, without enough troops necessary, and to fight an enemy that would stop fighting with us if we didn't keep fucking with them so much.
I'm so sick of people saying "terrorists hate freedom, that's why they hate us." What the fuck. True, while I have spent my entire life living in this free country, I have yet to come across some crazy fucker who says "gee, I sure wish we had a dictator controlling our country." "Boy, I sure wish somebody would stop allowing me access to all this information." "You know, having all this people to elect is hard, why can't someone just come along and control everything in the country." "God, I sure wish I wasn't endowed by some creator with certain inalienable rights. Please, alienate my rights!"
This thing I have always loved about the Declaration of Independence is that it gets right to the point. Every human being has these rights, and you're fucking with them, and we don't like that, so go fuck yourself. And then we went to war. That was a just cause. How the fuck is Iraq a threat to our country? How do they infringe upon those rights? How is this war a just cause? Every day our troops spend in that country is another day where we continue to contradict the very thing we fight for. And then they lie about it, and spin it.
And then Bush gets fucking re-elected, no, not because he's handling the war so well, because it is laughable for anyone to say that this shit is going good. No, they vote him in because of "values." I'm sorry, values? Dudes, we're all for values, like being honest, and spending money wisely, and making sure people whose lives are in danger have the things they need to make it through, and making sure that our planet is clean and safe for all species to exist on (which ensures our own rights as well). Oh, but those are stupid liberal values they say. Real values are found in the Bible, they say. Fuck that. I say those are universal, smart, well though out values. I also believe those are true conservative values, and this agenda these Republicans pawn off to the rest of the country is irrational, power hungry, born-again "don't do that" "fear the wrath of god" "good against evil" bullshit.
BTW, where's Osama? Oh , we lost him in Pakistan, oh well. BUT WE GOT SADDAM! 12 YEARS LATE, BUT WE GOT SADDAM!!
All I want my government to do is to give me the chance to live my life, and to make sure no one infringes on my rights, or the rights of anyone else in this country. I can't expect that anymore; this country is run by smart people who pander to dumb ideas. When being a good Christian person and repping for the J to the Eezzo S to the U S is more important that going to war for wrong reasons, I question what exactly are thes values that this country holds so dear?

Quote:At Least 5 Dead, 2 Wounded In Nightclub Shooting
Witnesses: Alleged Gunman Went Onto Stage, Fired Shots
POSTED: 10:32 pm EST December 8, 2004
UPDATED: 12:25 am EST December 9, 2004
COLUMBUS, Ohio -- At least five people died and two others were wounded after a shooting at a Columbus nightclub on Wednesday night, NBC 4 reported.
The shooting took place shortly after 10 p.m. at Alrosa Villa, located at 5055 Sinclair Road.
Two members of the heavy metal band Damageplan were reportedly shot and killed, including Dimebag Darrell, formerly with the band Pantera, NBC 4's David Wayne reported. The other band member's name was not released. The alleged gunman also died at the scene, Wayne reported.
Shortly after the band began playing its first song, a man reportedly ran onto the stage and began shooting, according to a witness who identified himself as Sean. Some members of the audience reportedly thought the man running onto the stage with a gun was part of the band's act, NBC 4's Erin Tate reported.
Witnesses said that several shots were fired at the band. Witnesses said that a bouncer at the club tackled the alleged gunman before that person was shot and killed. It was unclear as to whom shot the alleged gunman.
NBC 4 reported that of the surviving victims, one person was in critical condition while the other was in fair condition. Several others were treated at the scene, suffering from various injuries.
Alrosa Villa is a popular north Columbus nightspot for young adults, featuring rock and heavy metal bands, NBC 4 reported.
According to the band's Web site, Damageplan was touring nationally. It performed in Buffalo, N.Y., on Tuesday night and had a concert scheduled in Flint, Mich., on Thursday.
Damageplan featured former Pantera artists Dimebag Darrell and Vinnie Paul. The pair were joined by vocalist Patrick Lachman and bassist Bobzilla, according to their Web site.

I'm a longtime fan of conspiracy and conjecture, and as such I've read all kinds of stuff that ranges from the believeable and even sensible to just downright insane. In this thread I shall post some of my favorite ones here, say one per day or whenever the inspiration hits me. Feel free to post your own.

You know those lists that sports writers make where they recap recent events and put their own witty spin on it. We'll me and matthew are better than all of them so we made our own last night. What a week! Here weeee goooooo:
1. Word is going around that a professional mens slowpitch softball league just signed a television deal which will put the sport on during primetime this coming summer. No word if Rick Barry will join the league.
2. Reports from Hollywood confirm the rumor that a script has been sold for a third Ace Ventura movie. No word on if it will center around the 2004 Season of Martin Gramatica.
3. The BCS is once again being criticized after leaving undefeated Auburn out of the championship game. Boise state, also undefeated, did not make it either. When asked to comment on the teams in the championship game, BSU head coach proclaimed, "I am blue with envy!".
4. Oklahoma State was forced to forefit a game earlier this week due to problems with the team bus. When asked to comment on why they chose to take the bus instead of fly through four states, Coach Eddie Sutton said "what are you fucking crazy, and have everyone die again?"
5. On Monday night Vinny Testeverde set a peculiar record, by throwing a TD to his 63rd different reciever, besting Steve DeBerg. When asked to comment, Deberg said "He may have that record, but I was way better in Tecmo Super Bowl"
6. Real Madrid won its 3rd straight super league title. Word out of America is, no one cared.
7. After a good start, the Giants offensive line has become a disaster again, causing Eli Manning to run for his life. When asked if they will take an offensive lineman as their top pick in next years draft, Giants GM Ernie Acorse said "Sure, if Tom Coughlin's daughter starts dating him!"
8. President George W. Bush had the honor of tossing the ceremonial coin toss at last week's Army/Navy Game. Bush, a former cheerleader for Yale, called it "an honor". He was especially relieved at the warm reception he got, after being discharged from last week's Air Force game.
9. Notre Dame is currently looking for a replacement for recently fired coach Ty Willingham. Willingham had the shortest Irish tenure since George O'Leary was fired after a week for lying on his resume. Surprisingly, it took Notre Dame 3 years to figure out that Willingham lied about being white.
10. ESPN is set to premiere their new movie "3", chronicling the life of NASCAR legend Dale Earnhardt. After a long debate on what to call the movie, ESPN finally chose "3", as it was the average number of teeth the movie's target audience has.
Tune in next week for more crazy sports observations!
