Rush Roars Back to 'Rio'
Quote:NEW YORK (Billboard) - Veteran Canadian rock trio Rush will release the triple-disc live album and double-disc DVD "Rush in Rio" in September via Anthem/Atlantic.
The label is eyeing a Sept. 23 release for the sets, though a spokesperson for Coming Home Productions tells Billboard.com the release date for the DVD may move due to logistical issues.
"Rush in Rio" was recorded last Nov. 23 on the last show of the band's Vapor Trails tour.
The disc features 28 songs, ranging from staples such as "Tom Sawyer," "Limelight," "The Spirit of Radio" and "YYZ" to newer album cuts like "One Little Victory," "Earthshine" and "Secret Touch."
I guess they're getting lazy in their old age. They've broken the pattern of 4 studio/1 live album, thus tearing a hole in the space-time continuum which will undoubtedly lead to our demise. But they're the greatest band in the history of music, so they can get away with it...

I wake up this morning to find one of my car windows smashed in. Not only that but the prick that did it stole maybe about 3 dollars in change from inside. Dumb bastard- you risked getting caught by me for 3 dollars mostly in pennies!! So now i gotta shell out money that i don't have to fix the fucking window.

Paul Tracy was keen to make a point as he scored yet another pole position this afternoon at the Molson Indy Vancouver after taking to the 1.781-mile circuit early in the final 40 minute qualifying session. Tracy, who lost his provisional pole position lap yesterday after CART decided that he had ‘blocked’ his rivals made it clear that no one could ‘cry’ about his performance today.
“I’ve done my talking with my driving on track this year and everyone else has done it in the pit lane and with the officials,” Tracy said in reference to tile rivals Bruno Junqueira, Michel Jourdain and Alex Tagliani. “We did it and we did it earlier than we had to as we wanted no one to complain. We decided to go out and set the mark and we wanted no complaints...”

No complaints indeed as the Team Player’s driver lapped a full 0.144s faster than Bruno Junqueira could manage in his Newman/Haas Lola, backing up his provisional pole position award with second place on the grid behind the dominant Paul Tracy.
Roberto Moreno turned perhaps the most impressive lap of the session as the Brazilian veteran secured a surprisingly competitive third position on the grid while his Herdez Competition teammate, Mario Dominguez, continued his drab mid-season with 12th place on the grid. For Moreno, the 2001 winner with Visteon Patrick Racing, the streets of Vancouver are proving to suit his driving style once again.

Michel Jourdain Jr never really looked like a pole position contender all weekend, but did a solid enough job in his Rahal Lola to claim fourth position ahead of Sebastien Bourdais in the second Newman/Haas Racing Lola.
Patrick Carpentier seems to be overdriving in order to try and get on terms with teammate Paul Tracy, taking to the escape road just moments before planting his Player’s Lola into the wall and bringing out the only red flag of the session. Carpentier has failed to impress this year compared to Tracy but despite lapping nearly eight-tenths slower than his countryman, still starts a respectable sixth overall after getting back on track following his brush with the wall.

WOW!
Alex Tagliani will be disappointed to qualify just seventh after holding a provisional fourth place on the grid yesterday, but the Rocketsports’ driver can take solace in the fact that he has his former teammate, Carpentier, right ahead of him come the start of the Molson Indy Vancouver race.
Darren Manning continued to illustrate that the Reynard chassis still has some pace in it compared to the Lolas ahead of him, by taking the eighth fastest time ahead of the sleepy Oriol Servia who continues to provide the Visteon/Patrick team with hope, but little else.
Mario Haberfeld rounded out the top ten in his Mi-Jack Conquest Reynard ahead of ‘technical teammate’ Tiago Monteiro in the Fittipaldi-Dingman branded entry.
Mario Dominguez did little to replicate his early season form in the second Herdez car while Jimmy Vasser picked up the Reynard dregs in 13th position ahead of Max Papis who continues to struggle in his PK Racing Lola.
Adrian Fernandez had another dismal showing in his Lola as the Portland winner qualified in an uncompetitive 15th place ahead of the usual tail enders. Ryan Hunter-Reay continued to underline how he is not up to the job for American Spirit but still out qualified Gualter Salles, Rodolfo Lavin and Geoff Boss.
Paul Tracy, the bad boy of CART and all credit to him for being himself and not another politically correct android that CART seem to enjoy these days, sits on a well deserved pole and in front of his Canadian fans looks all set to take the Molson Indy Vancouver in style.
