Shame On You - Keyser Gets His Revenge
Posted by: Keyser Soze - 02-20-2003, 03:51 PM - Forum: The Pit - Replies (36)

So this weekend I had a ski house rented from a guy I found on the Internet. Looked reputable, everything seemed to check out. I made two payments of $1000 to pay for the house with a last payment for $1900 due the day we moved in.

Get to the place on friday night, place is ok, like a big frat house, jacuzzi outside, sauna, pooltable, large fireplace, etc...

Run to Pizza Jerks to go get some food and return to see a car in the driveway. I figured it was the landlord just coming to see everything is ok. Walk up to the guy and ask him how he's doing and walk him inside. So he goes "are you guys staying here?" and i'm like yeah, we booked the place. So they guy is like thats funny, so did we. Needless to say, we told the guy we were expecting a large number of people and he couldn't possibly have been booked here.

Called the scumbag landlord and told him I had someone else saying they booked the place. Turns out the Asshole double booked the place.

Well, we told him that was unacceptable and demanded he either have the people leave or find us comparable accomodations. For three hours this went on. Thankfully, the rest of my friends had not yet arrived so they didn't have to endure this anxiety. Three hours later, i'm still arguing with this moron. Now he tells me we have to leave because the other party was paid in full and we still owed him the balance of 1900. Well he wasnt going to get that money from me until he had the people vacate. We were going in circles. I had it. I left and went down the road to another place and booked a condo. We stayed there and told this Asshole to refund us the money for the house. I wound up having a great time but we got lucky. We could have potentially been stranded with nowhere to go on a busy holiday weekend.

So now it turns out this guy has a bunch of lawsuits on his ass from his business dealings and is now crying poverty and he can't pay us. He said he's filing bankruptcy and we need to wait to get paid. So not only did he leave us stranded in Vermont with nowhere to stay, now he refuses to refund us for services unrendered.

So I get this bright idea to call CBS news and ask for Shame On You, that segment where they go after people who screw consumers over. I left my story on their machine and didn't think they'd call back. Well they did, and i'm supposed to meet with them and give them the lowdown, and they say they will get my cash back.

I can't wait to see them go to this guys house and chase him around. That will be worth all the shit I had to endure.

This Weekend at the Movies - David Gale, Dark Blue, Gods and Generals
Posted by: Teenweek - 02-20-2003, 02:31 PM - Forum: Entertainment Unlimited - Replies (30)

This looks like a pretty good weekend to go to the movies.

You have Life of David Gale with Kevin Spacey who is on death row for a crime he did not commit and Kate Winslet who is trying to save him.

You have Dark Blue with Kurt Russell as a corrupt cop and Ving Rhames in a thriller about police corruption and intimidation tactics set days before the acquittal of 4 cops in the Rodney King trial.

And Gods and Generals a 3 and half hour movie about the civil war with Robert Duvall.

Fantasy Baseball - 12 teams, Live Draft and Head to Head
Posted by: Teenweek - 02-20-2003, 12:41 PM - Forum: SportsCenter - Replies (92)

This is to confirm that you've created the Private League
named Welcome to Hell in that league.

To allow other managers to join your league, send them the
League ID# and Password. In your case, the ID# is 14378 and
the Password is arpisucks.

You have chosen for your league to take part in a live
online draft on Wednesday, March 5 at 9:35 pm EST. Until that time, you (and only you)
can change the type of draft by using the Change Draft Type
option found among your Commissioner Tools, which can be
reached from your League Overview page.

If you choose to remain in a live draft, please arrive at
the draft 10 minutes ahead of the scheduled time. The draft
will start promptly and may conclude rapidly if only a few
managers are logged in.

We also suggest that all league members pre-rank their
players in case a coach can't make it to the draft. Managers
can do this at any time by simply going to the Fantasy Baseball
home page and clicking on their team name.

A body like New Jersey - I thought this was amusing...
Posted by: 2 tired 2 give N F - 02-20-2003, 05:02 AM - Forum: The Pit - Replies (34)

So a girl says to her boyfriend, "You know I hear I have a body like New Jersey." To which he replied, "Oh really, than what's this" and he grabs her by the waist She smiles coyly and says "That's Middlesex"... He grabs her ass and asks what that is... She replies, "That's Freehold"... So then he grabs her breasts and asks what part of Jersey they are and she says "That's Point Pleasant"... Then he looks down toward her snatch and says..."Lemme guess, that's Cherry Hill..." and she says "No...that's Eatontown..." He smiles and says to her well guess what, and as he whips his cock out he says..."Welcome to Wildwood..."

A girl from Jersey I know shared this with me...thought I'd pass it on...

HBO SPORTS FINALIZES LIST OF PRIZEFIGHTS TO BE FEATURED IN LEGENDARY NIGHTS

12-part documentary series celebrating 30 years of World Championship Boxing coverage debutes March 2003; Jim Lampley hosts

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 7, 2003 -- HBO Sports, honored six times with George Foster Peabody Awards for broadcast excellence in sports documentaries, has finalized the list of prizefights to be showcased in the 12-part documentary series Legendary Nights, celebrating the most memorable fights in the network's 30 years of World Championship Boxing coverage. Hosted by Jim Lampley, the "Sports of the 20th Century" presentation will air for 12 consecutive weeks in prime time, starting WEDNESDAY, MARCH 5 (10:00-10:30 p.m. ET/PT), followed by other shows on subsequent Wednesdays at the same time. The series is executive produced by Ross Greenburg, president, HBO Sports, and Rick Bernstein, executive producer, HBO Sports.

"The most enduring characteristic of HBO Sports is our tradition of boxing excellence," said Greenburg. "For 30 years, we have produced World Championship Boxing, the sport's premier TV series. Now we will dig in and produce a documentary series that examines, in our unique storytelling style, the 12 HBO fights that most stand out."

The criteria for selecting the 12 fights that will be spotlighted in individual 30-minute films was simple. "The most memorable fights that have aired on HBO are going to be showcased," said Bernstein. "Some might not even qualify among the more competitive fights in our 30-year history, but for various reasons they are among the most memorable ever to be presented on World Championship Boxing."

With more than 500 fights presented on HBO since 1973, the final selection of the 12 fights for LEGENDARY NIGHTS was a challenging task. The bouts that will be showcased, in chronological order, are:

SUGAR RAY LEONARD VS. TOMMY HEARNS (1981)
LARRY HOLMES VS. GERRY COONEY (1982)
AARON PRYOR VS. ALEX ARGUELLO (1982)
MARVIN HAGLER VS. TOMMY HEARNS (1985)
MARVIN HAGLER VS. SUGAR RAY LEONARD (1987)
MIKE TYSON VS. BUSTER DOUGLAS (1990)
JULIO CESAR CHAVEZ VS. MELDRICK TAYLOR (1990) EVANDER HOLYFIELD VS. RIDDICK BOWE trilogy (1992, '93, '95)
GEORGE FOREMAN VS. MICHAEL MOORER (1994)
RIDDICK BOWE VS. ANDREW GOLOTA I & II (1996)
OSCAR DE LA HOYA VS. FELIX TRINIDAD (1999)
LENNOX LEWIS VS. MIKE TYSON (2002)
Host Jim Lampley has served as World Championship Boxing's blow-by-blow commentator since 1988. Larry Merchant, who has been the expert commentator on HBO's boxing coverage since 1978, is contributing writer. In addition to HBO Sports' actual fight footage from the original broadcast, LEGENDARY NIGHTS will feature the network's acclaimed blend of rare footage, archival photos and revealing interviews.

LEGENDARY NIGHTS is executive produced by Ross Greenburg and Rick Bernstein; coordinating producers, Dave Harmon, Kirby Bradley and Kendall Reid-Gill; host, Jim Lampley; contributing writer, Larry Merchant.

This looks awesome. get those VCR's ready. Did not see the holmes vs cooney and arguello vs pryor but saw all the rest and all of them are classics. My favorite still is the 3 round bloodbath of Hagler vs hearns. Thi is a definite must watch for boxing fans.

As I was going to St. Ives I met a man with seven wives. Each wife had seven sacks, each sack had seven cats, each cat had seven kits. Kits, cats, sacks, wives, how many were going to St. Ives?

Pop quiz, hotshot. There's a bomb on a bus. Once the bus goes 50 miles an hour, the bomb is armed. If it drops below 50, it blows up. What do you do? What do you do?!?!?!
