The real song for the deaf
Posted by: Spitfire - 08-22-2002, 06:15 PM - Forum: Noise Pollution - Replies (28)

   from blabbermouth.net

A group of deaf people turned up to see QUEENS OF THE
STONE AGE because their new album is called Songs For
The Deaf, according to Britain's Metal Hammer
magazine.

The 37-strong party of hearing impaired folks turned
up to see the QUEENS at the Spiders club in Hull. The
group baffled the bouncers with their use of sign
language and threatened to call trading standards when
they were refused entry to the "Songs For The Deaf
Night".

A spokesperson for the club said: "They were angry and
said they had phoned us to check we were holding a
'Songs For The Deaf Night'. They didn't see the funny
side at all and left straight away."

They're so loud that even deaf people can hear them.

In June, after the British musical group the Planets introduced a 60-second piece of complete silence on its latest album, representatives of the estate of composer John Cage - whose piece "4'33"" consists of 273 seconds of silence - threatened to sue the group for ripping off Cage (the group, however, noted that the Cage camp had failed to specify which 60 of the 273 seconds it thought had been pilfered). Said Mike Batt of the Planets: "Mine is a much better silent piece. I [am] able to say in one minute what [took Cage] four minutes and 33 seconds."

Fuck Basketball,
Fuck Baseball,
and Fuck Hockey (cause I grew up in Tx and never learned jack about the game)

Then NFL season is upon us and now is the time to start talking smack.

I fucking hate free agency,
I fucking hate that the Skins quarterback position has changed 3 times a year for the past 10...

But this year I finally see something nice starting to happen,

and I can't wait to bitch slap Emmitt with the stud linebacking corp of ours.

Has anyone else watched this after South Park?

Originally, it was supposed to be produced by Denis Leary and Jon Stewart, but Jon bailed at the last minute and they picked up Lenny Clarke from the Job to produce. They picked the dumbest sitcom idea from this weirdo dude, a show called "Shews" an improv "realistic" comedy, then changed it to "Jesus & the Gang" Jesus hanging out with a bunch of NY kids (including Adam Ferrara)

Some crazy shit has happened on the show. Last night, Leary didn't show up, instead he went to rehab. Colin Quinn got into a fist fight with the director, and Peter Gallagher (semi-famous actor) got rammed by a car in the opening scene but they kept filming it with him laying there in the middle of the street...

Maybe I'm easily amused but I got a kick out of this show. The best part are the Real World asides where everyone despises and insults each other.

Would you date an amputee?

If it was an attractive person in every other way, but was completely missing a leg or an arm, would you still go out with them? Think the sex would be weird, or would you look forward to trying out new and imaginative positions?

Why in the blazing firey pits of Hell would you lock that thread about banning?

Are you really that big of a pussy? It was just a goof as far as I saw.

If someone gets banned from this site, they are a total tool. Someone already stated it, EVERYONE HERE WAS INVITED!

I only hope that you locked that thread of your own accord, because that was absolutely the pussiest move I've seen around here, ever. EVER!

Uhhhhhhh,
I don't know if we do these threads anymore,

But I would like to congratulate Jack on having a name in blue.
It is my understanding that he has played a large part in many of the changes and features and look of the board and if that is the case, certainly his name SHOULD be blue.

and Gawd Damn look at him marshal an unruly crowd, firing up the cells, locking topics......

anyway, best of luck in your tenure.

So, I'm on my commute home, resting and minding my own business, when the tool in the seat next to me, who is sleeping....does the lean over into me and onto my shoulder. Asswipe in question does this not once, but twice. I politely moved his heading hoping he'd get a fucking clue. If you were in this situation.....what solution would you choose?
