My new best friend? - You decide
Posted by: Arpikarhu - 06-26-2002, 06:46 PM - Forum: The Pit - Replies (88)

I cant decide who to shower with my friendship. Ken has lost sight of his original mission, so he is out. Luna is never around anymore, out. And Maymay is just so old school. I had a flirtation with Keyser but he just loves me for my baseball knowledge, i feel so used. Help me pick my new friend.

Maynard James Keenan, 1964-2002

Metal Vocalist crushed in South Californian recording studio

By Steven Cobaltis
June 25, 2002

Earlier today in a South Californian recording studio, Maynard James Keenan and Billy Howerdel were recording material for the upcoming A PERFECT CIRCLE record, when a series of support beams gave way under thousands of pounds of old PA speakers resting ontop of it, crushing Maynard who was singing in the recording room below it. He was instantly killed as his dearest friend Billy looked on. He was declared dead at 1:03pm by the state coroner.

Billy spoke very briefly to us, 'It was all coming together today, I'd never heard him like this, shear perfection. Then it came crashing down, the screams of agony, then silence. I still cant believe he's gone, its a black day for music'.

Maynard James Keenan, born James Herbert Keenan in Ravenna, Ohio on April 17, 1964 was always a creative genius from the word go, was the vocalist of TOOL, a band that took music to the limits then smashed through them making a limitless artistical experience. He was renowned for his lyrics, and his voice, unlike anyone elses, unique.

Also vocalist for A PERFECT CIRCLE, a second project which he took part in, in which he was recording the track 'angerlique' at time of death. was also huge in the alternative scene.

It's a huge loss, to the millions of fans, his friends, family. He was due to go back on tour with TOOL on July 11 in Bakersfield, CA with Tomahawk.

We have yet been able to speak with TOOL or their management, but its to our belief that all tour dates will be cancelled.

Maynard James Keenan, 1964-2002. You will be sadly missed, your words will live on through the ages.

 Explain this construction shit
Posted by: Maynard - 06-26-2002, 03:36 PM - Forum: The Pit - Replies (62)

Why is it that they always have 5 guys standing around with their shovels in their hand not doing anything on the side of the road? EVERYONE who's a driver sees this right? So why don't we all complain? I mean, they close down a highway in rush hour traffic to one lane and then when you get up to the construction part, there's only 1 guy working.

Isn't there ANYTHING that we can do about it? I have a friend who's a civil engineer in PA (he design's roads and bridges) and he said that when the engineers go to the site to inspect the progress, they flip when they see that shit and write the guys up. But I guess it doesn't happen often enough, becuase I still see that bullshit every day!!!

I say we rise up and take the streets back!!

Don't look at this thread at work. It has the word CUM in it.

 Movies on the net
Posted by: Arthur Dent - 06-26-2002, 03:27 PM - Forum: Entertainment Unlimited - Replies (5)

Watched any good movies on the net lately?

I'm not talking about the copies of major motion pictures you downloaded. I mean stuff like at atomfilms.com or the scifi channels "Exposure" series. Stuff that was made to be distributed on the net.

Heard at least two of the companies that were trying to do full length features for net distribution folded, but the free short films are still going strong.

So, got any favorites?

"Troops" is a really good spoof of both "Cops" and "Star Wars". One an award on that Scifi Luca Film awards special.
