My bands first performance - Bar none, april 30th
Posted by: Keyser Soze - 04-21-2002, 05:14 PM - Forum: Noise Pollution - Replies (39)

We finally landed our first gig. Everyones invited to come check us out at Bar None in Hoboken on Tuesday, April 30th. To get an idea of what we play, check out the temporary site at http://www.1sttvjob.com/fourplay/

We should be playing in Hoboken quite a bit starting out, it seems that we have alot of opportunites there right now with people making their way down to the shore as the summer approaches. We'll be paying our dues at small bars and getting the ball rolling. We can use all the support we can get audience wise so invite everyone you know, bring em all down and we will try and show you all a good time.

Robot cameras 'will predict crimes before they happen'
By Andrew Johnson
21 April 2002
Computers and CCTV cameras could be used to predict and prevent crime before it happens.

Scientists at Kingston University in London have developed software able to anticipate if someone is about to mug an old lady or plant a bomb at an airport.

It works by examining images coming in from close circuit television cameras (CCTV) and comparing them to behaviour patterns that have already programmed into its memory.

The software, c
alled Cromatica, can then mathematically work out what is likely to happen next. And if it is likely to be a crime it can send a warning signal to a security guard or police officer.

The system was developed by Dr Sergio Velastin, of Kingston University's Digital Imaging Research Centre, to improve public transport.

By predicting crowd flow, congestion patterns and potential suicides on the London Underground, the aim was to increase the efficiency and safety of transport systems.

The software has already been tested at London's Liverpool Street Station.

Dr Velastin explained that not feeling safe was a major reason why some people did not use public transport. "In some ways, women and the elderly are effectively excluded from the public transport system," he said.

CCTV cameras help improve security, he said, but they are monitored by humans who can lose concentration or miss things. It is especially difficult for the person watching CCTV to remain vigilant if nothing happens for a long period of time, he said.

"Our technology excels at carrying out the boring, repetitive tasks and highlighting potential situations that could otherwise go unnoticed," he added.

While recent studies have shown that cameras tend to move crime on elsewhere rather than prevent it completely, in certain environments, such as train stations, they are still useful.

And Dr Velastin believes his creation has a much wider social use than just improving transport.

His team of European researchers are improving the software so that eventually it will be capable of spotting unattended luggage in an airport. And it will be able to tell who left it there and where that person has gone.

However, the computer is not yet set to replace the human being altogether.

"The idea is that the computer detects a potential event and shows it to the operator, who then decides what to do – so we are still a long way off from machines replacing humans," Dr Velastin says. [/i]

For years now I've been the glue that held this place together and what do I get for it?

"Member?"

My dickness services have delighted and annoyed countless people, bringing them together.

I am the object which sticks from your crotch

I am the thorn in your side

I am the desire of women

I am the cure to Spit’s oral fixation

Favorite movie: no one else has seen

Are there any movies that you really like,
But weren't major releases, and no one knows the film?

I was just thinking of "Harry and Walter go to New York", with Michael Caine, James Caan, and Elliot Gould.

Love the film, but not many people have seen it.

I would like to introduce our new member of this fine establishment, Street Angel. It seems SA has a nasty little secret about herself that isn't all that nice. Since I do not ban though, this will be her only home as far as CDIH is concerned.

It seems that Street Angel, aka Paper Doll has made a new identity for herself complete with pictures and bullshit stories about herself. I have known about this for a couple of weeks now but waited to see what this demented bitch was up to. I would like to thank the person(s) who sent me warning emails about this whole mess.

So, lets all play a new game of guess who she really is and guess which guy helped her come up with all this.

Wwf roster split, how is it going?
Posted by: GonzoStyle - 04-21-2002, 07:07 AM - Forum: The Faggy Artistic Forum - Replies (20)

It's been a while now since the roster split which gave Raw to Ric Flair and Smackdown to Vince. With the 1st PPV coming up now how are you feeling about the scenario so far?

Personally I am not liking it so far but I see no way out of it. Without any competition he has to compete against himself now. But now with certain stars not being able to have angles together it sucks. My question is if and when HHH loses his title, where does he go? Also having Rock on one show, Austin on another. Having nWo pretty much be a useless entity since Hogan is on another show and they are just not a force anymore. It all just sucks truthfully. Plus this split should have given more second tier wrestlers a shot for bigger matches but so far it's all the same old people.

It's only been a month but they need something huge and I don't see nothing on the horizon short of a huge signing.

I like Sum 41, their music was pretty good until they got national exposuire. But I just saw the video they did for the new song off the Spiderman album. I closed my eyes and coulda sworn I was listening to The Beastie Boys. I love The Beasties don't get me wrong but influence is one thing but they sound exactly like Beastie, it's getting a tad annoying. Is anyone else hearing it in their music?

Picked this up the other day since it was on sale and I've been meaning to get it for a bit now....totally obsessed with three songs so far and like the others.....

Love Song For No One

Staying home alone on a Friday
Flat on the floor looking back
On old love
Or lack thereof
After all the crushes are faded
And all my wishful thinking was wrong
I'm jaded
I hate it

I'm tired of being alone
So hurry up and get here
So tired of being alone
So hurry up and get here

Searching all my days just to find you
I'm not sure who I'm looking for
I'll know it
When I see you
Until then, I'll hide in my bedroom
Staying up all night just to write
A love song for no one

I'm tired of being alone
So hurry up and get here
So tired of being alone
So hurry up and get here

I could have met you in a sandbox
I could have passed you on the sidewalk
Could I have missed my chance
And watched you walk away?

I'm tired of being alone
So hurry up and get here
So tired of being alone
So hurry up and get here
You'll be so good
You'll be so good for me

My Stupid Mouth
My stupid mouth
Has got me in trouble
I said too much again
To a date over dinner yesterday
And I could see
She was offended
She said "well anyway..."
Just dying for a subject change

Oh, another social casualty
Score one more for me
How could I forget?
Mama said "think before speaking"
No filter in my head
Oh, what's a boy to do
I guess he better find one soon

We bit our lips
She looked out the window
Rolling tiny balls of napkin paper
I played a quick game of chess with the salt and pepper shaker
And I could see clearly
An indelible line was drawn
Between what was good, what just slipped out and what went wrong

Oh, the way she feels about me has changed
Thanks for playing, try again.
How could I forget?
Mama said "think before speaking"
No filter in my head
Oh, what's a boy to do
I guess he better find one

I'm never speaking up again
It only hurts me
I'd rather be a mystery
Than she desert me

Oh I'm never speaking up again
Starting now

One more thing
Why is it my fault?
So maybe I try too hard
But it's all because of this desire
I just wanna be liked
I just wanna be funny
Looks like the jokes on me
So call me captain backfire

Oh, another social casualty
Score one more for me
How could I forget?
Mama said "think before speaking"
No filter in my head
Oh, what's a boy to do
I guess he better find one

I'm never speaking up again
It only hurts me
I'd rather be a mystery
Than she desert me

Oh I'm never speaking up again
Starting now
