Life's pleasures - Lets get all serious and such, again
Posted by: HedCold - 04-11-2002, 08:23 AM - Forum: The Pit - Replies (10)

aside from jerking off, what are some of the little things in life that just make you feel good?

some for me are

-in sports being able to shutup the trash talkers. as a pitcher in little league and hs i was never really that good, but to be able to get out some cocky hitter who thought he was going to hit a bomb off of me felt really good

-taking a nice long shower. i spend as much time in there as i can.

-doing something really dumb just to annoy people and then watching them get all pissy, and then knowing that my actions were the cause of it

  Paranoia

How paranoid are you? Do you keep your curtains shut in fear that people are watching you from afar? Do you ever feel like people are eavesdropping on your most intimate conversations? Do you ever feel like you are simply a pawn in a vast intricate conspiracy that may doom the entire human race into absentia???

Sometimes I do the first thing with the curtains.

Xp: active windows/programs close w/o warning
Posted by: Danked - 04-11-2002, 12:42 AM - Forum: Über Geek Zone - Replies (10)

I usually just give up and accept the fact that I'm completely computer illiterate, but this is fucking pissing me off. I installed XP about a month ago and everything was pretty much okay till this past week. Whatever I'm using, whether it be Internet Explorer, AOL, Paint Shop Pro, AIM, or just some document folder, quite frequently the program/window just completely blinks out. One second I'm browsing CDIH, then BOOM, the window closes on it's own and all I see is my desktop background until it refreshes and the taskbar shows up (sort of like when you start Windows up). Whenever IE shuts down like this, I've noticed that I don't lose my internet connection, but all the IE windows disappear. If it's PSP, the program blinks out w/o prompting me to save or anything. Help me!

*It just happened twice while I was typing all this shit up.

Good job. Good fucking job. That clip in the Quinn show of the guy giving Visas to Hussein and Hitler just seems far more realistic. I wouldn't be surprised if we learn brochures of How To Hijack aren't being caught being mailed.
FAA Sends Newsletter to Hijacker
Wed Apr 10, 1:10 PM ET
By CORALIE CARLSON, Associated Press Writer

MIAMI - The Federal Aviation Administration (news - web sites) mailed its regional pilots newsletter to one of the Sept. 11 hijackers just last month.

Kathleen Bergen, an FAA spokeswoman in Atlanta, said Wednesday that she did not know why Ziad Samir Jarrah's name had not been removed from the mailing list earlier.

The incident came to light just weeks after it was disclosed that the Immigration and Naturalization Service sent official notice to a Florida flight school six weeks after the attacks that two of the other hijackers had been approved for student visas. The episode embarrassed the INS and prompted a shake-up at the agency.

Jarrah, a 26-year-old from Lebanon, was believed to have piloted United Flight 93, which crashed in Pennsylvania, apparently after the passengers fought back.

The quarterly newsletter addressed to Jarrah was sent to his former apartment near Fort Lauderdale.

The issue happened to contain an American flag and an editorial about the World Trade Center attack that said: "We hope for justice to be served to those individuals who horrified our great nation."

The newsletter comes from the agency's Oklahoma City office and is mailed to pilots in five Florida counties, Bergen said. It typically contains reports on local crashes and the lessons to be learned from them.

"It's something completely innocuous," Bergen said of the mailing, which is also available online.

Jarrah is the only one of the 19 hijackers known to be on the mailing list, Bergen said. The FAA's mailing list for its regional newsletters includes the nation's 625,600 pilots, she said.

The if game - A new game to play
Posted by: PatCooper - 04-10-2002, 08:38 PM - Forum: The Pit - Replies (52)

Ok today at work a buddy of mine showed me a book he's reading. It's called "IF " Questions in the game of life. Basically it's a book with all questions you can ask yourself about your life. So i thought it would be a fun thing to try here. The way we'll do it is you ask a question starting with the word IF. And then the next poster will answer the question and then ask another question. And so on. So i'll start it off.

If you could commit any crime and you wouldn't get caught. What crime would you committ?
