  Murder in my hometown
Posted by: Maynard - 12-02-2002, 05:57 PM - Forum: The Pit - Replies (30)

OK, so many of you won't really understand the big deal about this because there's so many of you from the city. But try to bear in mind, that this kind of thing just doesn't happen where I live. I live in one of the wealthiest counties in the nation. It's been expanding by leaps and bounds the past few years. More and more people are moving out here from the urban areas, and it's becoming crowded. And with more people, I guess it brings more crime.

Yesterday morning, my brother (he's 21) woke up and did his daily routine (including rubbing one out. yeah i know this cause he told me. it will have relevance later) and decided to stop at the local FuncoLand on his way to work. He only works about a 1/4 mile from home, and FuncoLand is in between the two. Upon arriving at FuncoLand, he saw a woman who was obviously distraught and asking him to come in and help. When he walked in, he found the two employees (one he used to work with for 3 years, and the other he was friends with through his other friend, and hanging out at the store) dead. Both shot in the head. He really didn't know what the fuck to do. They called the police and he was questioned about it.
The police think that it was a robbery, but they couldn't give him too much info since it's an open homocide investigation. They did tell him though, if he was a few minutes earlier to the store, there's a good chance he would have been laying dead next to them.

He's vowed to jerk off every morning before work from now on.

Have any of you ever had this kind of experience?

  CDIH Chat
Posted by: Jack - 12-02-2002, 05:12 PM - Forum: The Faggy Artistic Forum - Replies (10)

On the main page, as many of you already are aware, there is a link to a chat applet page where you may chat with fellow CDIH'ers. Unfortunately for many of you, this applet is not working.

Here is a few suggestions on how to make it work:

1. While waiting for it to say "** You've join CDIHCHAT." be patient. At my work computer which is on a t1, it can take up to 3 to 4 minutes to connect. Yet at home on my laptop it is instantaneous. Why? I don't honestly know.

2. If you are still having problems, try updating to the newest version of Java Virtual Machine. You can find it at microsoft.com or by running the windows update wizard. For those of you on "special" copies of XP, I wll make the file for this available within the next couple of days and put a link in this thread.

3. Reboot your computer. As odd as it may sound, some have gained access by simply doing this.

4. Your firewall/router may be blocking access for you. In this case you will either need to connect directly to your internet connection or just not chat. Sorry, thats just the way it is.

Hope this helps a little bit. A better, faster, easier to use chat is on it's way. It will just take me some time to configure and design.

  Raw preview for 12/02
Posted by: Teenweek - 12-02-2002, 04:44 PM - Forum: The Faggy Artistic Forum - Replies (13)

RAW preview for Dec. 2
RAW comes to you live Monday night on The New TNN at 9/8 CT.

Shawn Michaels' first defense of the World Heavyweight Championship turned ugly when Triple H, the former Champion, interfered, leaving both HBK and Rob Van Dam lifeless in the ring.

One can imagine that last Monday was not the last ruthless attack The Game plans on making on Michaels. Where and when will Triple H strike next? Find out Monday night on RAW.

Also, the last time we saw the World Tag Team Champions, they were naked. One week later (and hopefully, fully clothed), will Christian and Chris Jericho look for revenge on the Dudleys?

We'll undoubtedly get more information on all these questions and many more Monday night on RAW! Don't miss it when it kicks off at 9/8 CT on the new TNN!

Changes to how you listen to Live365.com - damn bastards.......
Posted by: sblueman - 12-01-2002, 05:02 PM - Forum: Entertainment Unlimited - Replies (7)

Live365 is going to be changing the way you can listen in to your station of choice in january. You won't be able to use open up the station with the <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.live365/com/play/station">http://www.live365/com/play/station</a><!-- m --> addresses anymore. Here is the quote from the Live365.com website:

Quote:Direct Stream Access

Direct access to streams (eg opening the /play/ URL in 3rd party players) will no longer be available, also in January.

Why are we doing this?

The short answer is that we serve two flavors of TLH: Expensive, and Very Expensive. Expensive TLH is served to those listeners who are logged in. The costs associated with Logged in TLH is defrayed by the associated statistical information.

This helps keep broadcasting costs minimal, and no charge for listening. Without advertising we would not be around, remember!

Very Expensive TLH, on the other hand, is served to those listeners who do not log in, who access the site via the /play/ URL.

In a soft advertising market such as this one, we are unable to sustain the costs of Very Expensive TLH which has fewer incoming revenues - statistics and/or newsletter impressions - to offset it.

Logging in - which is and will always be FREE for listeners - will be begin sometime in January.

But....!

Many people suggested that this will discourage listeners and that it will actually do more harm than good...

While we understand that not everyone will want to register - remember that we will make it extremely clear that we are not using anyone's information to evil ends, but rather it will be used to improve the listening experience.

For instance, if you're a Christian music fan, you will most likely have way different tastes and interests than, say, if you like punk rock. And a progressive house music fan will likely have different interests than an oldies fan. The musical tastes that Live365 supports are more diverse than any other radio network in the world. This initiative will allow us to place fewer ads more sensitively, not less, and to get a higher CPM in doing so.

Live365 is an advertiser-supported service. These changes will enable us to keep listening FREE and broadcasting as affordable as possible, while continuing to grow and reach as many people as possible.

So if anyone uses the 3rd party way, I suggest going to live365 and registering to tune in. It sucks but they have to do what they have to do to make ends meet. I don't like the move but from a business standpoint I understand them.

  madden2003 pc - glitches
Posted by: HedCold - 12-01-2002, 12:34 AM - Forum: Über Geek Zone - Replies (35)

anyone else have this for the pc? i just downloaded it and im not sure if the glitches im getting is my computer or the game. i'm guessing my video card has something to do with it, but i don't know how much.

when the ball comes onto the screen, from the top left corner this triangle thing that covers the screen is always there blocking everything, and then sometimes the game just resets my computer or crashes it

i have win me, and i figured that could be part of the problem because it sucks so much :disappointed:
