Posted by: Tenbatsuzen - 09-11-2002, 11:38 PM - Forum: SportsCenter - Replies (2)

Lost among the countless 9/11 stories, one of the greatest quarterbacks in the NFL, Johnny Unitas died today of a heart attack at age 69.

Comparing 9/11 to the past - For the older posters

For those of you that lived under the spectre of complete annihilation by the Soviets how do you think it compares to the fear that Americans had after 9/11?

Saw the video for Po' on MTV the other day, flipping through channels. I really dig their vibe... Know anything about them?

Mad or sad - No, not about drunk driving
Posted by: Doc - 09-11-2002, 04:20 PM - Forum: The Faggy Artistic Forum - Replies (48)

OK, simple question:
Are you mad or sad about September 11th? Maybe both. Maybe you were one but now you're the other.

I'm a little of both. Right after it happened, I was furious. I wanted blood, I wanted to track down the people who did it and rip their hearts out in front of their children. I didn't even think about all the people who died. It actually took a while to sink in that there were so many innocents that lived through the Hell of being stuck in a building, then having it collapse, and then some that were buried alive.

Now, I think it's all saddness. No more anger, maybe a little frustration, but every time I take the Pulaski and come out from that covered roadway at the Holland Tunnel, I don't get mad when I don't see the towers.

A funny thing happened - On my way to an oa.com forum...

So in an effort to make Kid A. happy I tried doing other things when this board was slow....(aside from starting new threads) whooops fell off the wagon I guess...

anyway, I scanned the old board looking for anything of interest....(you know a funny thread... or new WOW)...

AND

I found two gems....

One, was FTL lamenting the loss of a girl who he planned his future around.... apparently to someone he knows... poor guy.

Two was this.....
A GRUMPY POST!!!

Quote:Okay jackass....you just hit my shitlist and it's my first day back on. How fuckin dare you compare me to Lent. Remember this ya little assfuck, payback is a bitch and I'm the king of paybacks.

It's comments like this that will get your ass sitting across from Tequila, Moosen or FNMoron in the tournament at the table and me ignoring them as they shove a pool cue up your ass. Asshole!

Like I said, I'm only coming out of retirement temporarily to run this tourney. Why? A. I made a promise to Froy a while back and I keep my promises. II. I'm an old school pool player and thought it would be cool to break up the monotony of Bar 9 with something different. It's going to be a good time for everyone, whether you play or not.

If anyone is still in touch with the guy, please tell him that I stepped down and am no longer a MOD. He can come back...
maybe join in a secret cabal with Maynard and Arpi....

I kinda miss reading about meatflaps.

Listening to 104.3 and they seem to be trying to pick their music to be appropriate for today.

Is there appropriate music for today?

  The way people deal
Posted by: Arthur Dent - 09-11-2002, 02:23 PM - Forum: The Faggy Artistic Forum - Replies (3)

I was at a b-b-q recently and there was a little boy only 4 years old there. He had these little Telle-tubby figures he was playing with and wanted to show them to someone. He handed them over and said "Lala didn't make it".

His father explained they were builing with wooden blocks that morning and the boy had built two towers and was playing with the telle-tubby figures on it. Then he knocked over the towers and Lala didn't make it out.

Amazing how kids deal with stuff.

  A different take.....

What is everyone's opinion of Lisa Beamer?
I am very conflicted with the whole thing.
I don't know how I would react, don't know what her motives are. But it seems to me that there is a lot of self promotion going on with her. I haven't heard anything stating her husband was the mastermind of the take over plan, or that he led the charge, yet "let's roll" is the phrase you hear.

The name Beamer is the only name on the flight people know.

Her picture is everywhere,

It just rubs me wrong.
