  Shawn michaels attacker?
Posted by: GonzoStyle - 08-03-2002, 12:22 AM - Forum: The Faggy Artistic Forum - Replies (44)

Who do you think put HBK's head through the car window?

My bets goin with the big show, yet he is the obvious choice. It's never who you think it is. Whoever it is, I smell them having a fued with HHH. Though HBK has showed interest in getting back into the ring.

Who else on the RAW roster could have been responsible?

Possibly Jericho?

  Ross report condensed 08/02
Posted by: GonzoStyle - 08-03-2002, 12:20 AM - Forum: The Faggy Artistic Forum - Replies (1)

Jim Ross has posted the latest Ross Report over at WWE.com. Here are the main notes from the update:

-Ross says that the cuts in the developmental territories was largely to save money, and make the developmental system more efficient. By concentrating on just one developmental group, the WWE hopes to better teach the wrestlers.

-The WWE wants to recruit new talent from the amateur ranks. The success of Kurt Angle and Brock Lesnar should attract amateur wrestlers who wouldn't have given the WWE a second thought a couple of years ago.

-Ross praises the continuing improvement of the WWE TV product. The trading of wrestlers between rosters should provide more rivalries.

-The list of wrestlers heading out for the Australia tour includes both RAW and Smackdown wrestlers due to the wrestler trades that have taken place. The list cannot be changed, due to the time required to obtain work visas for Australia. The Melbourne show will be headlined by Hulk Hogan vs. Brock Lesnar.

-Several WWE wrestlers will make appearances on the Tough Enough 3 series, including The Rock, Ric Flair, the Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, Bradshaw, Trish Stratus, Tommy Dreamer, Sgt. Slaughter and Rey Mysterio.

-The WWE hasn't held any meetings with Steve Austin since June 10.

-Rey Mysterio Jr. has impressed everybody who has been in contact with him since his WWE debut.

-There is no update on the Goldberg/WWE situation. There has been no official talks between the two parties.

-Kane has been released from doctor's care, and will return soon.

The illusion that is message board etiquette - Yet another reminiscing thread, kind of
Posted by: Kid Afrika - 08-02-2002, 11:06 PM - Forum: The Pit - Replies (21)

Chew on this...

When I first started posting on message boards, I had this idea that there was an existing heirarchy to which you had to adhere or be destined to a horrible fate. You see, I came from Newsgroups to boards. In newsgroups, there are FAQs and there are rules about groups and shit. Like you dare not discuss a thread or a post in a binaries group. That's what the discussion groups are for.

So, when I started posting on oa.com, I was all worried about lurking for a while to get to know the people and see how things worked. My roommate at the time didn't see it the way I did. He just posted all willy-nilly, and had fun with it. Well, I'm sure he doesn't post anymore, wherever he is. But, here I am still posting.

Now, I am not saying that you can't survive on message boards without adhering to the rules, whether actual or implied. The point is that it can be a totally different experience depending on from where you view it. For me, I always liked the idea of vets and newbies. You had to earn your stripes with wit and good posts. Volume and activity really had no bearing on it, at all. After all, it is better to be thought the fool than to open one's mouth and remove all doubt.

Well here we are today, and my posting seems to have changed in the eyes of many. I'm not sure how much it has actually changed, or if it is the audience that has changed. Or, maybe it was more fun to watch me post when it was new to you.

I used to post shit that I really liked to discuss/debate. These days, I don't do that as often because I think the posts will get lost in between maynard's lunch threads, and arpi's dinner threads, and ken's pen's polls. From where I sit, the message boards have become a lot more personal and frivolous(sp?), and a lot less informative and thought provoking.

I mean honestly, where else can you read about shit throwing simians and people getting divorced on the same board? Don't get me wrong. I am not complaining, I'm just trying to open a discussion. After all, I don't have to read the EMO threads, but I do feel a certain obligation to torment those who post them. That's just fun, to me. Shit, I remember having a lot of fun ripping on people's "FU" threads, at one time. I guess I just feel that if you don't want people to kick you when you're down, don't get down or don't let them see you down.

So anyway, we all come here for fun, but it seems to me that the type of fun varies from person to person. We can't all like everything that's posted here. And we can't all be nice to each other all of the time. Shit, we're lucky enough that we all stuck together to make this place work.

Go, post, be merry. But, how about some enlightening shit every once in a while? Would it kill you to discuss something besides how cool you are because you go to bar 9, and now you are personal friends with everyone else that goes? I have a few friends from here, and when I want to have a private conversation with them, I call them or IM them. For the most part, I don't put my personal life on blast, because I know you fucks would rip me to shreds over it, and rightfully so. Next time you post something personal and I rip you on it, remember, I couldn't do it if you didn't post it. Or, you could be like mayfag and many others that just ignore my taunts.

  Video game baseball - Stats
Posted by: JIMMYSNUKA - 08-02-2002, 10:25 PM - Forum: Über Geek Zone - Replies (1)

I am playing a season of World Series Baseball 2K3 or 2 or something. Im the Yanks of course. I'm just about a month into the season and the stats are nothing close to what i thought.

D Jeter BA .150 HR 0 RBI 0
R Ventura BA .482 HR 6 RBI 15
J Giambi BA .333 HR 8 RBI 18
A Soriano BA .200 HR 1 RBI 1
J Posada BA .245 HR0 RBI 0

I even made up a player....maxed out all his attributes
his name is
I.B HORNY BA .120 HR 0 RBI 0

This is a great game. And the fact that it isnt close to what you would expect makes it even better. Jeter is 9th in my lineup...fucking 9th! Now that is great.

Anybody else have any seasons underway?

Jump the shark - When it all went downhill.
Posted by: Keyser Soze - 08-02-2002, 07:29 PM - Forum: The Pit - Replies (21)

When did < insert poster here > jump the shark? There was a time when Kid Afrika was one of my favorite posters. He would start topics that got me thinking and inspired me to reply with long winded and insightful verses. There was a time when I looked forward to what he would post next. But now he's resorted to hack material and arpi/ken bashing. I think he jumped the shark with the "Active Poster Check In" back on the old board. That was a sad, sad day. Its all gone downhill from there. Maybe the K1d I once knew will return but I won't hold my breath.

So when did your favorite poster jump the shark?

The stupidest thread in the world - Tribute.
Posted by: Kid Afrika - 08-02-2002, 06:33 PM - Forum: The Pit - Replies (56)

I set out today with the full and complete intention of starting the stupidest thread ever. I had it all planned out, well ok not really, but it makes the story sound better. So, I was writing this thread, and I kept coming up with shit that ken's pen and arpi have already done. This is when I came to the realization that they have their own little battle going to see who can be the most annoying poster, while posing as a "contributing" member of the board.

So, I am left to the resolve that there is no way in hell, that I or anyone else could top the stupidity thrown about by these two utterly moronic individuals.

This one goes out to you arpi and ken's pen, our local neighborhood stupid thread guys...
