I was thinking to myself while just smokin and reflecting. You ever just start recollecting or even during a convo have a story to tell to prove a point or just cause it's a cool story.
I don't mean family or personal but stories of athletes, actors, musicians, historical figures, etc.
Stories that you heard maybe once in passing yet it struck you so hard you could never forget it.
Stories that are burned into your mind for eternity that you don't even have to try hard to remember.
I remember recently when hearing about an athlete who called a 6 million dollar contract for a single season "slave wages".
The story that sticks out in my mind are not players like Mays making 50,000 a year. But a story I heard one time about Louis Armstrong. In his later years when Armstrong was well established for decades and a living legend. He sat one night with a friend over some smokes and a beer. Armstrong recalled working on the trolley as a child and his poor background. He went over to the refridgerator and opened it up and there were 6 eggs and a carton of milk inside. He smiled and said "look now I can eat whenever I want, I don't have to be hungry no more."
It bought tears to my eyes, this is a man who should have been able to have anything he wanted in life. But he was greatful for milk and eggs.
Another story is one about Mike Tyson. Tyson in his prime in the 80's into the early 90's was a very accesible person for the media. The media loved him cause he was a throwback to ali. When he went to jail and was offered a reduced sentence if he'd admit he was guilty. He wrote a letter to Jim Grey and said "I will never admit my guilt cause I am not guilty. No matter if they release me tommorow, I will not admit wrong when I am not at fault. However over the course of my life, I have done several things much worse than the crime I was convicted of. So in the end I am where I belong, an animal in his cage. I was never no good and maybe I just belong here."
Love him or hate him, you honestly can't judge the man unless you honestly can sit down and listen to his past and understand it. That story always stood out for me as well.

This fucking cunt should be shot dead!!
SOUTHFIELD, Michigan (CNN) -- A Detroit woman whose two small children died in her car while she was getting her hair styled has been taken into custody, police said.
"There's no excuse for it. This woman's a criminal. I'm going for murder one," said Southfield Chief of Police Joseph E. Thomas.
The woman confessed that she left her 10-month-old daughter and 3-year-old son in her 1995 black Dodge Neon for more than three hours Friday afternoon, Thomas said.
Tara Maynor, 25, was a regular at Utopia Salon of Southfield, where she had an appointment Friday to have her hair curled, said the shop owner, Bruce Moore.
Around 11 p.m. Friday, officers responded to Providence Hospital on a report that the bodies of the two children had been brought in by their mother.
The girl, Acacia Darcell Maynor, and her older brother, Adonnis Dominuque Maynor, were pronounced dead at the hospital, police said.
The mother initially told investigators she had been abducted from the parking lot of the salon, raped, and then returned to her car, which was in the lot.
There, she said, she found her children still inside the car, according to Thomas.
But late Friday night, she confessed that she had left the children unattended in the car for more than three hours during the afternoon, while she was having her hair done, Thomas said.
"The temperature was in the mid 80s," he said. "It had to be between 115 and 120 degrees in that car."
After the mother discovered her children were dead, she drove around for about an hour, "trying to conjure up an excuse for her actions," Thomas said.
Only after concocting the rape story did she take the children to Providence Hospital, Thomas said.
The woman is being held in the Oakland County Jail Southfield Annex "pending further review by the prosecutor's office, which will probably come early next week," said Det. John Harris

AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!
There's this thing known as the past and in the past people wrote stories and talked in ways that don't exactly "mix" with our current PC, 5 names for every thing, dialogue but it existed. But, gosh darn it, IT HAPPENED. And here comes another file in "fun with revisionist history" -- removing the "hunchback" from the title "hunchback of notre dame" to make people feel more comfortable. We really, really are going to hell when we start changing things in the past to our current sentiments.
And what bothers me the MOST are the final two paragraphs when this scoliosis CUNTRAG, this BITCH attempts to speak about how this change is good because the original would have hurt her feelings. As if Victor Hugo would really care what you think.
What other titles do you think might be changed as this precendent is set?

Fri Jun 28, 9:22 AM ET
LONDON (Reuters) - A British theater company has dropped the word hunchback from its stage adaptation of the classic novel "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" to avoid offending disabled people, newspapers reported Friday.
Oddsocks Productions has renamed its touring production "The Bellringer of Notre Dame" after discussions with a disability adviser raised the possibility of offending people with spina bifida or the disfiguring scoliosis of the spine.
"We have not changed the novel in any way, we simply felt changing the title would cause less offence of people," producer Elli Mackenzie was quoted as saying by the Daily Mirror.
French author Victor Hugo's classic 1831 novel, set in 15th century Paris around the cathedral of Notre Dame, tells the tragic story of a deformed bellringer Quasimodo and his love for a beautiful gypsy girl Esmeralda.
The novel has been translated into 20 languages and adapted several times for the stage and screen -- including a 1939 Hollywood film starring Charles Laughton and Maureen O'Hara.
The original title of the novel was "Notre Dame de Paris," but its name was changed when the book was translated into English and the hunchback has remained part of the title until now.
Libby Biberian of the Scoliosis Association told newspapers she was pleased at the change.
"I would be embarrassed and offended by the original title," she said.

I think one of the purposes of a music forum should be to get people informed about other music that they wouldn't normally listen to or know. I love it when I get to hear new stuff...Slash got me into Matthew Ryan, Maynard got me into the Melvins..
And since we all know pretty much know what everyone hear listens to this should be easy...cuz at times I'll be listening to something and thinking, "sean may like this or slash might dig this..."
So here's some band recommendations:
Polly- Jucifer
Sean & Becky - High on Fire & Mastodon
Lunababe - Ben Harper
everybody - Halfway to Gone

| Remakes and more remakes |

If there's anything that can make a movie more gooder it's remaking it with a bigger budget and the god Box Office.
The most recent offenses in the remake category include Michael Bay's remaking of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre because he wants to make it more hip (?) and LESS gory(!!!! the original wasn't even that gory!!!). This time it stars Jessica Biel the really really hot oldest daughter from 7th Heaven which is just another of the huge mistakes- if your remaking a classic low budget feature do not make your cast people we've masturbated to before.
Another classic movie being remade is Guess Who's Coming to Dinner starring Bernie Mac. Never saw the original but know the basic plot. Might work, who knows.
Anyway, what films would you like to see remake and what films do you fear the remake of?

I had to work the Britney Spears concert tonight.
I'll put myself in the barrel for admitting that, but I'll just say one thing -
I want to taint Britney with my seed.
