Would you repent for your sins? - Inspired by born again ants!
Posted by: Sean Cold - 02-28-2002, 07:16 PM - Forum: The Pit - Replies (28)

Is repenting for what others say your sins are worth the effort?

What is this repenting shit anyway? How does absolving one's self mean a fuckin thing? If it did, why have a penal system. Just ask the fuckers if they are sorry. No, shoot them on sight for fuck's sake.

How many of us are truely sorry for shit we did anyway?

I know for shit sure I am not sorry for many things at all.

And, no, I don't fuckin care if this was posted before here or on oa.com, different board so we can post what we fuckin want and shouldn't be ridiculed if it just so happened to be posted on Froytoy's place.

John madden to host monday night football - The end of the dennis miller era is here
Posted by: Sean Cold - 02-28-2002, 07:03 PM - Forum: SportsCenter - Replies (13)

Quote:Madden Moves to Join 'MNF'

The path has been cleared for John Madden to leave Fox Sports and move to ABC's "Monday Night Football."

According to industry sources, executives of the International Management Group, the company representing Madden, yesterday asked Fox executives to give him permission to talk to ABC brass about the "MNF" gig.

If Madden ultimately can't make a deal with ABC, he would have to negotiate a new contract with Fox.

Spokesmen for Fox and ABC would not comment on the Madden machinations. Fox's willingness to allow Madden to talk to "MNF" could be two-fold. Network brass may believe they could not reach a financial agreement with Madden. The Foxies also may want to present a younger combo of voices in their No. 1 NFL booth.

Sources said for Madden to agree to void the last year of his contract means ABC brass already received strong feelers from Madden's representatives about their client's interest in moving to "MNF."

While Madden has not publicly acknowledged any intention of leaving Fox, he did not want to go into the 2002 season as a lame duck. There is also a history of Madden flirting with "MNF." During his last two Fox contract negotiations, he came close to cutting deals with ABC.

The fact his partner of 21 years, Pat Summerall, is leaving Fox, where the two voices spent eight seasons together, may also make it easier for Madden to split.

If Madden were to sign a deal with ABC, it would likely mean the end of the road for both Dennis Miller and Dan Fouts, who both have one year left on their "MNF" contracts.

It is highly unlikely ABC would hire Madden and use him in anything but a two-man booth. With Madden on board, he would be teamed with Al Michaels, who has a year left on his $3 million-per-year ABC contract.

Fox also has options if Madden leaves. And there have been indications the Foxies may have already been making plans for life after Madden. Behind the scenes, Fox Sports brass had made it clear Joe Buck will replace Summerall as the network's No. 1 NFL play-by-play man.

The Foxies also made a strong pitch to keep Boomer Esiason at the network. That would indicate they could replace Madden with a three-man booth featuring Buck, Esiason and Cris Collinsworth, a cast member on Fox's NFL pregame studio show.

Esiason took himself out of that mix by signing on to the cast of CBS Sports' "The NFL Today."

Fox still can present a three-man booth if Madden leaves by teaming Buck and Collinsworth with Troy Aikman.

I am sorry, but Miller sucks but I fuckin hate Madden with a passion that is unequaled in a sportscaster. I just hink he is annoying shit. With his drunk partner Pat callling it quits, it is pretty much a good bet he is going to now bring his fat ass along with that fuckin telestrater to annoy us even more. With Miller, we may have had no idea what he was rambling about but with Madden, will anyone even care? At least we will see the end of that fuckin mutant turkey on Thanksgiving day!

A Man
Alanis Morissette
[Image: 00456468.jpg]

I am a man as a man I've been told
Bacon is brought to the house in this mold
Born of your bellies I yearn for the cord
Years I have groveled repentance ignored

And I have been blamed
And I have repented
I'm working my way toward our union mended

I am man who has grown from a son
Been crucified by enraged women
I am son who was raised by such men
I'm often reminded of the fools I'm among

And I have been shamed
And I have relented
I'm working my way toward our union mended
And I have been shamed
And I have repented
I'm working my way toward our union mended

we don't fare well with endless reprimands
we don't do well with a life served as a sentence
this won't work well if you're hell bent on your offence
I am a man who understands your resistance

I am a man who still does what he can
to dispel our archaic reputation
I am a man who has heard all he can
cuz I don't fare well with endless punishment

Cuz I have been blamed and I have repented
I'm working my way toward our union mended
And we have been blamed and we have repented
I'm working my way toward our union mended

Camping - Where are the better spots....
Posted by: Kingpin - 02-28-2002, 05:02 PM - Forum: The Faggy Artistic Forum - Replies (51)

Personally, I do not think camping is a white trash event, unless you drive up in a 1969 pick up truck. I love the outdoors and camping, with friends is such a treat. Cannot wait for the warmer weather to arrive. I usually go up to Mongaup in Livingston NY, I was wondering if any of you like to camp and where??

Gotta be able to drink at the sites, of course, and fires are a must. Let me know if there are are any great places around that you have been to.

Who's the psycho of the board?

Which person do you think would be most likely to snap one day and mow everyone down with an AK-47 (gak gak gak)?

I don't necessacarily mean who will get fed up with people on the board making fun of them. I mean who has the personality/temprament to flip out and snap.

My guesses would be...
av8er
Sephiroth
AM (but I think he'll be picking up his gun to start a revolution so maybe that doesn't count).

 Who would you meet?

If you could meet any musician, and like hang out, have a meal or something. You know, just generally pick their brain, who would it be? Let's pick one alive, and one dead.

Dead - Frank Zappa. Without a doubt one of the great composers/songwriters/guitar players/all around nutcases of the last 30 or so years.

Alive - I guess it would have to be Trent Reznor. From interviews I have read and seen, he would have alot to say.
