Six Feet Under next season will be last
Posted by: GonzoStyle - 11-08-2004, 05:40 PM - Forum: Entertainment Unlimited - Replies (13)

Quote:NEW YORK - "Six Feet Under," a quirky series about a Southern California family that runs a funeral parlor, will end its HBO run after its upcoming fifth season.

Alan Ball, creator and executive producer of the ensemble drama, which stars Peter Krause, Michael C. Hall, Frances Conroy and Rachel Griffiths (news), says he feels the show has run its course.

"Working on `Six Feet Under' has been enormously fulfilling creatively, but if the show is about anything, it's about the fact that everything comes to an end," Ball said in a statement.

Production is set to begin next week. HBO confirmed Monday it would be the show's last season but hasn't said when it will air.

"I will miss working with such enormously talented writers, cast, staff and crew and I'll always be grateful to HBO for allowing and encouraging us to tell the story we set out to tell in a challenging and uncompromising way," Ball said.

The "Six Feet Under" cast won a Screen Actors Guild (news - web sites) award for best ensemble in a drama series this year. Conroy won a Golden Globe and a SAG award for her portrayal of matriarch Ruth Fisher.

I love this show, it gets a little uncomfortable with the gay stuff but overall it's one of the best written shows I have ever seen. It was a great premise and very well carried out and it's one of the premiere shows along with Oz & Sopranos that made HBO the premiere network on sunday nights.

with Oz gone, sopranos also coming up on its final season and no this show going away I wonder what HBO's gonna come up with to replace them.

The Wire is an awesome show, I really reccomend people watch it or catch up if they can. Season 1 was awesome, Season 2 slipped a little but was still great, Season 3 now in progress has much improved now that they have gone back to the original premise of the show with the Barksdale crew back in full force, the dramas reached the high point with last nights episode.

They have Carnivale but to be honest I watched a few episodes of the 1st season and I didn't really get excited or want to keep up.

Deadwood was pretty good at the begining but once they killed off Wild Bill I pretty much lost interest.

worst thing ever, if you havent seen the commercials its basically the thin crust pizza with a layer of extra thin crust that has cheese in between the two crusts.

when we ordered it we figured it was an extra layer of actual cheese. Turns out that its cheese but its like a cream cheese type substance almost a butter like consistancy cream cheese. It's horrendous tasting and just plain out awful, I actually threw away food, thats how horrible it was.

but some idiot killed himself at ground zero as a protest to the election results.

I don't feel like finding the story again. But trust me: it happened.

  bored - so fucking bored
Posted by: Bloody Anus - 11-07-2004, 09:55 AM - Forum: The Pit - Replies (7)

So I decided to break out one of my boxes of old stuff that most normal humans would have thrown out years ago. This box had mostly college notebooks, some drawings from when I was 8, a 3-hole puncher, colored pencils, and possibly every birthday card I've ever received.

Since I don't use my scanner enough and, well, since I'm fucking bored, here are some things I found in my notebook from my first college semester, a time when I was apparently even more bored than I am now.

<a href=http://members.cox.net/rupture2/bored/1.jpg target=blank>Here's</a> my projected starting lineups and defensive alignment for the 1997 world series, documented on my bio 111 folder. Also there's a fake schedule of games for each sport. Notice how I made sure the NFL interconference games were done properly - otherwise I would have just been wasting my time.

The <a href=http://members.cox.net/rupture2/bored/2.jpg target=blank>other side</a> of the bio folder. This time I scheduled times for the NFL games.

<a href=http://members.cox.net/rupture2/bored/3.jpg target=blank>More artwork</a>, as well as some Wrestlemania III matches and the first Survivor Series matches.

<a href=http://members.cox.net/rupture2/bored/4.jpg target=blank>More of the same..</a>

<a href=http://members.cox.net/rupture2/bored/5.jpg target=blank>chemistry</a>

<a href=http://members.cox.net/rupture2/bored/6.jpg target=blank>97-98 NHL predictions</a>

<a href=http://members.cox.net/rupture2/bored/7.jpg target=blank>Mega Man!</a>

<a href=http://members.cox.net/rupture2/bored/8.jpg target=blank>Ten?</a>

Once I find I'm unable to sleep I'm sure I'll be scanning some more.

Quote:GRANTSBURG, Wisconsin (AP) -- School officials have revised the science curriculum to allow the teaching of creationism...

You have to be a real sicko to demand children be taught as fact material which is provably false.

Creationism was commonplace in the American public school system up until the launch of Sputnik by the Soviets; at that point, the government realized that feel-good mythology was a bad bet for national security.

I know this is a bit late, but check it out if you can. Watching the Bobcats lay the smackdown on the Magic is so much more fun than watching the Knicks do whatever it is they do that vaguely resembles playing basketball.

I just got this yesterday and watched it this morning, I wasn't expecting it to be funny cause of the premise but it was fuckin hysterical.

You must see will ferrell in all his glory!!!

The funny part is that I have heard dozens of other comedians say that off camera he is one of the dullest people on earth. Yet once he's performing and the camera is rolling he does a complete 360 and morphs into a comedic genius.
