Top 100 Comedians

I saw the top 10 and I didn't see Dice on there. This list like most others is bullshit. Also they had Prior as 1 instead of Carlin who is obviously the best. It's probably because he's black and handicapped.

PORN AGAIN

NOW that Jesse James, host of the Discovery Channel's "Monster Garage," is dating Sandra Bullock, his soon-to-be ex-wife, Janine Lindemulder (above), is returning to porn. Lindemulder, famed for her girl-on-girl sex videos, will perform with men as part of her new contract with adult industry giant Vivid. "I had a mental roadblock about working with men on film, but that is gone now and I feel totally liberated and as excited as a schoolgirl at the thought of working with guys," Lindemulder said.

Cheney and Powell Fought Bitterly Over Iraq
Posted by: Keyser Soze - 04-17-2004, 06:04 PM - Forum: The Pit - Replies (19)

Cheney, Powell Split Over Iraq, Book Says
Sat Apr 17, 1:54 AM ET

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Vice President Dick Cheney (news - web sites) and Secretary of State Colin Powell (news - web sites) are so upset with one another over the Iraq (news - web sites) war that they are barely on speaking terms, according to excerpts from a new book published in the Washington Post on Saturday.

The book, entitled "Plan of Attack," is not due to be released until next week but the Post's assistant managing editor, Robert Woodward, wrote it and the newspaper is reporting from it.

Woodward, perhaps best known for his role in the Watergate scandal that forced the resignation of president Richard Nixon in 1974, interviewed administration officials for the book, including Bush.

He writes that the relationship between Cheney and Powell became so strained over the plans to invade Iraq that Cheney and Powell are barely on speaking terms.

Powell, Woodward said, opposed the war and believed Cheney was obsessively trying to establish a connection between Iraq and the al Qaeda terrorist network. He said Powell believed Cheney took ambiguous intelligence and treated it as fact.

"Powell felt Cheney and his allies -- his chief aide, I. Lewis 'Scooter' Libby, Deputy Defense Secretary Paul D. Wolfowitz and Undersecretary of Defense for Policy Douglas J. Feith and what Powell called Feith's 'Gestapo' office -- had established what amounted to a separate government," the Post writes.

"The vice president, for his part, believed Powell was mainly concerned with his own popularity and told friends at a dinner he hosted a year ago celebrating the outcome of the war that Powell was a problem and 'always had major reservations about what we were trying to do."'

But Powell agreed to publicly support the war after Bush personally asked him to, according to Woodward's book.

Bush also said he prayed for divine guidance in launching the war.

"I am prepared to risk my presidency to do what I think is right," the Post quotes Bush as saying.

Bush told Woodward he was cooperating on the book because he wanted the story of how the United States had gone to war in Iraq to be told.

Bush hoped to leave a record that "will enable other leaders, if they feel like they have to go to war, to spare innocent citizens and their lives."

"But the news of this, in my judgment, the big news out of this isn't how George W. makes decisions," Bush is quoted as saying.

"To me the big news is America has changed how you fight and win war, and therefore makes it easier to keep the peace in the long run. And that's the historical significance of this book, as far as I'm concerned."

Blues center charged in alleged murder-for-hire scheme

By BETSY TAYLOR, Associated Press Writer
April 17, 2004
ST. LOUIS (AP) -- St. Louis Blues forward Mike Danton was charged Friday in an alleged murder-for-hire scheme, the FBI said.

Danton was arrested at the airport in San Jose, Calif., after the Blues were knocked out of the NHL playoffs in a loss to the San Jose Sharks on Thursday.

According to a criminal complaint filed in federal court in Illinois, Danton and a woman tried to hire someone to kill an acquaintance of the hockey player.

Danton, 23, and the woman, Katie Wolfmeyer, 19, face federal charges of conspiring and using a telephone across state lines to set up a murder. It could not be determined where they were being held Friday night.

Blues spokesman Frank Buonomo declined to comment Friday, saying in a statement, ``The matter is in the hands of law enforcement officials and the judicial system.''

The Blues could not immediately put The Associated Press in touch with an agent or lawyer for Danton.

According to the criminal complaint, Danton told Wolfmeyer that a hitman from Canada was coming to kill him and asked her if she knew someone who would kill the person for $10,000.

She passed his call to another man, described as a ``cooperating witness,'' who spoke with Danton beginning Wednesday.

The FBI said Danton hatched a plot where the man could kill the ``hitman'' at Danton's apartment and make it look like two burglars had broken in, one being killed and the other making off with $3,000 Danton had in a safe.

The complaint alleges that Danton actually was trying to kill a male acquaintance whom he had fought with Tuesday over Danton's ``promiscuity and use of alcohol.'' The complaint said Danton feared the acquaintance, who is not named, would talk to St. Louis Blues management and ruin Danton's career.

In a telephone call recorded by authorities, the acquaintance asked why Danton wanted to kill him. According to the complaint, Danton broke down and sobbed, and explained that he ordered the killing because he ``felt the acquaintance was going to leave him.''

Authorities said Friday they have no reason to believe that the acquaintance or anyone else had been planning to kill Danton. ``We couldn't confirm that to be accurate,'' said Marshall Stone, supervisory FBI special agent in Springfield, Ill.

Danton, formerly known as Mike Jefferson, was suspended twice by the New Jersey Devils, who eventually traded him to St. Louis last June. He had seven goals, 12 points and 141 penalty minutes in 68 games this season with the Blues.

 UNBIASED SOURCE: Israel targeting children!
Posted by: Galt - 04-16-2004, 08:51 PM - Forum: The Pit - Replies (29)

At least 545 Arab children have been killed by Israeli troops since September 2000. Nearly half of them under the age of 14. The Israeli troops have killed roughly 2,700 civilians since September 2000, and the majority of them are civilians.

Conversely less than 850 Israelis have been killed including an accidental 100 children and minors.

Despite these facts the Israeli government denies that they are targeting civilians. Using intead, the macabre reasoning that Israel has to bomb civilian apartment buildings to get the terrorists before the terrorists get them.

Their matra of terror can be summed up by an exact quote from the SPOKESMAN of the Israeli foreign ministry.

"If we hadn't killed those Palestinian children, then the terrorist would have killed three or four times as many Israelis."

I bet they wouldn't be so cavalier of "getting" those terrorists if Israeli children were sleeping nearby.

Murder is muder. Period.

I don't believe that Israel stands on a higher moral ground just because Israeli soldiers are dressed in khaki and use F-16s, apache helicopters and flechette shells to kill and maim Palestinian children while Israeli civilians are killed by suicide bombers.

Bush's Tax Cuts - Wheres my money?
Posted by: Keyser Soze - 04-16-2004, 08:44 PM - Forum: The Pit - Replies (13)

I make about 90k with salary and bonuses combined. I made about 15k in the stock market last year. I only got $1,400 back in taxes. about $1000 from the fed and $400 from the state.

Did my accountant do a bad job with my return or is Bush really not that great a tax reformer?
