I'm reading Hell's Angels by Hunter S Thompson which was written about 1966-67. I was curious what he had to say about Altamont which was several years after he tailed them and wrote the book debunking or reinforcing many of the reports about them in the press at the time. While searching I found this FBI site which indexes their own documents, among them a 233 page report on the Angels and one page on Roswell, New Mexico. Plenty more on assorted celebrities and thugs. I knew this information was available to the public. It just never occured to me to search for it online before. Interesting stuff.
