A friend and myself were discussing the origins of 1337 5p34k (where you replace letters with numbers) which is very common with the kids these days. We were thinking who did it first. Some have done this with backwards letters: Beastie Boys 3M T43, and you have Debbie using 318830 (use a calculator).

But the conclusion we came up with was Journey's Escape album, but we are sure someone had done this before.

I got pulled over today. As the cop was pulling me over another vehicle doing about 70 in the 45 zone flys past us. He ignores it. He writes me a citation for my broken mirror, for not changing my address after I moved 2 weeks ago, and for not wearing my seatbelt (which by the way, I was. I had taken it off to get my wallet and license out, trying to be cooperative).

I had done nothing wrong to warrant him pulling me over other than having the broken mirror. This was obvious that it was to fill his quota and he just needed a target. So, I, the citizen am out 50 bucks for the seatbelt, 15 for the mirror replacement, 20 for having a broken mirror to begin with, and 30 for the non change of address. Not to mention that my insurance will now go up.

Thats $125 bucks I don't really have.

I ain't. But I have a college degree now (ok, it's an Associate's from DeVry, but it still counts).

If you didn't graduate, what year did you call it quits? Why? Are you upset that you did?

What, if anything, do you feel you missed out on because you didn't finish high school?

I quit in the 9th grade. Obviously, it wasn't that I couldn't pass. It was more that I wouldn't. I hated going to school. Especially here in Jersey.

I feel like I missed out on a shitload of football, and cheerleaders. I wonder what it would've been like to go to prom.

I guess I'm none the worse for the wear, but I wonder how differently my life would've gone had I finished high school.

In a way, I took a shortcut though. I got my GED (Good Enough Diploma) at 16, and started working full-time shortly thereafter.
