Raped by the yankees.... - Oddities.....
Posted by: PollyannaFlower46 - 08-25-2002, 04:45 AM - Forum: SportsCenter - Replies (3)

I don't know if anyone else here has a season ticket plan or package with any of the teams in the MLB, but I have a season package with the Yankees that gaurantees me one ticket for one game of each round of the playoffs. I've been doing this for four years now, and every year we get the post season order form mid to late September....I open my mailbox today, and low and behold....there's a bill for my post season tickets....and get this it's due by August 30, which just so happens to be the same date that the strike was set for.

I'm wondering if this is their way of making sure that if there is a short strike and a post season follows that tickets are sold and there's no refunding them? Very odd....odd indeed.

Anyone have any ideas, or get this kind of order form from another team?

I need some geek help - Building a gamers comp
Posted by: Zootybang - 08-25-2002, 01:39 AM - Forum: Über Geek Zone - Replies (12)

Okay folks, this was the first place i thought of with my problem. You guys seem to know everything about these infernal machines.
I am a first-person shooter-multiplayer addict. I have been for a couple of years. The problem Is, my comp sucks. I get major lag and connection problems.
I need to know what components i need to buy to upgrade my machine for ONLY game playing. The only other thing i use it for is stupid websites, message boards and e-mail.

I have a bone-stock, no- upgrades Dell dimension xps t700r. My memory sucks, 1g, I think. Maybe its 1meg. I obviously know shit about computers.
It's got a pentium III, and a soundblaster pro card.
I dont care that much about my sound quality. What I want Is smoother and faster gameplay during games like Battlefield 1942 and SOFII.
I only have about 600 dollars free cash right now. What would be the best part, or parts I could get In this price range to Improve my machines performance ?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Oh yeah, I have a cable modem, so I dont think my connection Is the problem.

what the fuck is up with that....

I noticed my deoderant doing the same thing...
big plastic holder only half full or so with actual product...

I am taking next week off,
and aside from joining in on the fun on the 29th, I don't have any major plans,

I might just take some day trips and enjoy some local shit....
So considering the jump off point is central jersey,

anyone have any ideas for some fun things to do?

Ross report 08/23/02 - Hogan, nash, x-pac, summerslam
Posted by: GonzoStyle - 08-24-2002, 12:15 AM - Forum: The Faggy Artistic Forum - No Replies

Jim Ross has posted the latest edition of "The Ross Report" at WWE.com. Following are the main notes from the update:
-Ross starts by discussing each match that will take place at this Sunday's SummerSlam PPV.

-WWE Road Agent Dave Hebner is having knee replacement surgery today. The surgery will be on the same knee that was operated on a few weeks ago.

-Trish Stratus and referee Charles Robinson had to have their eyes cleaned out after the mud match on Monday's RAW.

-Rob Van Dam is currently working through some elbow pains, probably caused by tendonitis or bone chips. He will be further evaluated later this week.

-Maven will be out of action for a further eight weeks while his ankle heals.

-Sean O'Haire has pulled his groin muscle. It is not a tear, which is good news. He is also battling a a deep muscle strain in his abdomen.

-The Big Valbowski is at home in Toronto, and is continuing to heal after his weight-room accident.

-Kanyon is a coupe of months away from a return to the ring after his shoulder injury.

-Jazz is healing well after her anterior cruciate ligament surgery, and is also a couple of months away from a return.

-Kevin Nash, who will probably be in attendance at SummerSlam, will return to Birmingham, Ala. to continue rehab later this week.

-Perry Saturn is expected to make a full recovery from ACL surgery by October.

-Rhyno should be back at close to 100% by November. He will start in-ring training in September.

-Hulk Hogan was in Minneapolis on Thursday meeting with Target representatives in preparation for the release of his new biography.

-Lance Storm paid a visit to the Tough Enough 3 hopefuls near Los Angeles on Thursday.

-Jamie Noble and Nidia will host SummerSlam at the WWE's "The World" complex in Time Square, New York City this Sunday.

-The Rock did an awesome thing for an 8-year-old Make-A-Wish Foundation member after Tuesday night's Smackdown tapings. The Rock took the youngster to the ring, and "created a moment that none of us who were there will ever forget."

-Next week, Lita, Terri, Stacy Keibler and Trish Stratus will all take part in the cover shoot for the new WWE cookbook.

-Ross says it was great to see Tony Schiavone at the Fayetteville event last Tuesday.

-Ross says he believes the overall WWE product has improved over the past few weeks. He says it is down to a better working relationship between the creative team and the wrestlers.

-The WWE and Sean Waltman (X-Pac) have mutually agreed to part ways. Ross says, "Sean is one of my all-time favorite people in our business and one Hell of a talented in-ring performer. I truly wish him nothing but success in the future."
