  Old people are worthless
Posted by: GonzoStyle - 01-12-2005, 03:06 AM - Forum: The Pit - Replies (44)

I have a client who is purchasing a home for her son in florida, she's about 70 and her son is in his late 40's. Basically he was still living with her and to move him out she has to buy him a home, she lives in NY and instead of her retiring down in florida she's packin his ass out there.

Anyway, the house will be under both their names as well as the loan. So I have mostly been dealing with him since he is already down there in florida.

I call her up today to get some info from her and certain documents I need. Shes a real sweet lady and I spoke with her a bit and then told her the items I needed from her, then this is the convo we had.

Ok so how do I get these documents to you?

Well you can fax them

But I dont have a fax machine

Ok well I am sending you documents anyway by fed ex with an overnight return envelope, so just put them in there when you send them back.

oh well I can always fax them to my son in florida

...... but you said you dont have a fax machine

no I dont but my neighbor does

.... ok, well you can fax them directly to me then... no?

But I dont have a fax number to send it to

well I can give you my fax number

but I dont have a fax machine

.... you just said your neighbor has one

yes I can fax it to my son in florida

.... ok but why fax it to him in florida from NY to have him fax it back to me in NY?

cause I dont have a fax machine

but you're going to fax it to him

yes

.... you know what, I misunderstood you, I apologize I see what you mean now.... fax it to him so he could fax it to me.

do you have a fax machine?

why yes, yes I doooo!!!

ok bye

yes bye

We combine all three sites to be renamed "A Cold Day in Your Moms Box on Boredplanet". Myself, Gooch, Gonzo, Galt, Alkey, and Keyser will all moderate the site. It will be an anything goes free for all. The whole family will be back together again. Itll be a battle royal.

  Who's your favorite bad poster?
Posted by: Galt - 01-11-2005, 06:23 AM - Forum: The Pit - Replies (456)

Now, I've finally been exposed to Armymad, and I can understand the love. But he's just so retarded, that you can't really have the rewarding back and forth you can have with some others.

I think some factor that a great "bad" poster has are among the following:

1. Confidence
2. Idiocy (meaning logically, not that they spell stuff wrong)
3. Unfunny and/or illogical
4. Lazy - emoticons, crutch gimmicks, responses, phrases, poorly thought out arguments/statements
5. Hypersensitivity

Toronto Hottie has the potential because she was (come on, admit it Gooch, please) really really stupid while also being realy confident.. Shockingly so. But her blood boils way too fast and she used to just run out of the the thread and not realy engage in a fight. But when she did, it was so enjoyable.

Gooch is also good. But it's really only when he's crusading that he's bad. When he's on his conspiracy rant that everyone's against him, and he's got one of those 2 paragraph cookie cutter but poorly worded "you're only saying that because it's coming from Gooch, if it was from Keyser it would be different." Which is obviously why he creates so many different user names. To hopefully prove that point to himself.
The other crusade that's great to get him riled up on is when he appoints himself board protector from all the meanies, and he just follows you around saying "you're not funny" or some other crutch supposed *burn* against the mean guy, the trick is ingore him a bit so he gets more riled up, and then you confront him and BOOM he explodes. Oh, so fun. Sometimes though, he's able to relax a bit and just post without all his paranoia and he's not bad. So it's really hit or miss with him.

460 is one of my favorites. He just has zero sense of humor. Not only can he not laugh at himself, but he THINKS he's funny and witty with his retarded :bboy: nonsense, endless emoticons, and endless circle of chatting without ever getting into any discussion of substance. However, he is just unwilling to ever attempt any discussion on anything be it political, philosophical or otherwise. If one could somehow suck him into those threads and get him posting his nonsense, I think you could really have something. He just needs more passion.

The Brain was good, but he's really at his best as a mod because he's just so drunk with power that he'll threaten you and try and strongarm you, which is just a sight to behold. But he really had no spine, so if you ever argued with him, he'd cave in pretty quick and so it wasn't as enjoyable.

RottenVinny is still my favorite ever. Becuase he had such a great cycle. He's post something all confident, and then there'd be a small comment that would set him off about "why is everyone so mean to me, I'm just a kid and I like Pantera" comments. But it would be like a paragraph long and he'd go into a whole story about how everyone is mean to him and picks on him in real life. So you could get all the joy of watching someone crumble without having to do any of the work yourself. But then, the next day, he'd post something all confident again, and it would all start over.

Some of the older OA.com ones I don't remember. The Rooner, Header, and the other one, didn't really stand out. I just remember them complaining that I was an ass and not funny and arrogant, but they didn't really stand out and so I never sought out to upset them.

I know Luna was a favorite, but I don't really remember her that much. Grumpy was pretty good. But I missed his heyday.

Who do you / did you get energized by getting under their skin, or arguing with, or just getting them engaged in a conversation so you could see their hamfisted posts come to life?

Oh great another Opie and Anthony forum...
Posted by: Keyser Soze - 01-11-2005, 04:41 AM - Forum: O&A General Show Discussion - Replies (27)

....you're probrobly thinking.

What we intend on doing here is to provide a place for fans to be themselves. There will be no banning here. There will be no censorship, no editing or deleting of threads. Completely uncensored discussion here will not only be allowed but encouraged. As you are aware, certain other websites, which you may also discuss here, have created some rules that people find, well....offensive. We won't having any of that here. We don't intend to have any affliation with the show, as that tends to put the board at the shows mercy. Therefore no topic will be off limits. There will be no banned words. Topics that previously were untouchable on other message boards will be completely embraced here.

The credo of CDIH is "for the members, by the members". Some message boards seem to think they do the same. The proof is in the pudding. In all the time our little community has been around (a little over 3 years now), we have never prevented a member from completely speaking their mind. Regardless if anyone had a problem with it. You will have have that chance now with a fresh new forum to discuss the Opie and Anthony show, brought to you by CDIH.

So, feel free to say whatever you like. Tell us we suck, tell us we dont need another O&A message board, tell us we're just starting this board to stir up shit, tell us we're the worst thing to come to this whole Opie and Anthony online presence. Tell us whatever you want. All we ask is that you bring something to the table and are prepared to deal with people with a strong opposing viewpoints. Being uncensored means all sides will be heard, so be armed with your wits.

Welcome to the Uncensored Opie and Anthony Forums. All are welcome, nobody is safe.

The Noise Pollution Album Art Collection
Posted by: Danked - 01-11-2005, 03:05 AM - Forum: Noise Pollution - Replies (40)

It's been almost two years since I started our album art collection in Noise Pollution. I personally feel that it adds a nice aesthetic touch to the forum and shows both how diverse yet similar our musical tastes are as a board. A lot of members, some long gone, helped contribute by sending me either albums they loved or classic albums that were remembered by cover alone, if not for the songs on them.

I currently have 140 albums rotating between 3 random images at the top of our music forum and I'd like to expand on our collection. In the time we started it, a lot of great music has come about and I've remembered a few classics I should have put up the first time. I don't even have OK Computer up there. I hope some of you will help contribute with albums of your own. I feel it really helps color our board a bit.

Feel free to post images within this thread and I'll take care of the rest. My only concern is that they are at least 150 by 150 pixels because that is what I have to shrink them down to.

For reference, here is the old collection thread.

You can see a list of the albums I am rotating currently here.* *Please note.... the newest additions will not be listed here at this link. This account expires at the end of this month and I am currently transferring all these images as well as any new ones here to be hosted on CDIH.
