| Human cloning - Have we finally gone too far? |

With all this talk from these alien freaks who say they have a cloned a human baby, this leaves a lot to discuss. We are entering a new year and advancements in science and technology become more real everyday. Is this an advancement in science or an act of playing god. Can this help to cure diseases and learn more about things about the human anatomy than we could ever realize or are we making living breathing soulless individuals
An example for the science aspect is with invetero fertilization, isn't that already a way of playing god in a way. A man and woman who are infertile and unable to have a baby are able to pick and choose who they want as a sperm donor or who they want to have their egg fertilized.
We have already cloned animals with the main one being Dolly the sheep. However there have been reports of kidney malfunctions and other ailments that have caused problems with these cloned animals. Now with humans, what will happen.
A baby being born is always known as the miracle of life. It is the coming together of a man and a woman who most of the time love each other and want to bring a new life into this world. Can a cloned human love, care, have feelings of remorse or regret or joy or love. What diseases can come from a human clone.
Is this wrong. Have we taken science too far to try to duplicate the miracle of life. Are scientists going somewhere they should not go.
Is this a good thing or a bad thing and if and your partner could not have a baby of your own, would you want a clone of your own DNA or would you go the adoption route.
What are your feelings on this.

I care thats the problem, I am an emotional bastard and I take shit to seriously. I can't honestly explain what goes into running a message board, many of you may understand many may think it takes nothing. But emotionally it takes a huge toll on you at times. I am not looking for thanks or pats on the back, I don't do this for any other reason than caring and liking many of you and not wanting to lose touch with you.
I lost it in a thread last night, it was aimed at the wrong person. I called alkey and apologized to him, it wasnt meant for him. It was meant for other people who pal around with me in person and then trash me and the way I run things behind my back, it upset me a lot to learn that recently. After 2 years I shoulda been used to it by now but you never grow used to learning those you thought were friends are really not.
The sites policies get confused by people at times, everyone wants to be territorial "I been here the longest, i was here before you were here". Everyone thinks they know the ideals of the site when they have no clue.
The site was simply built to give a home to people who wanted a bit of freedom, freedom from people who wanted to make money of a site. Freedom to post without mods breathing down their necks. Yes there are basically no rules on this site BUT one rule that was always on this site from day one was that there is to be no nudity in the pit, dont act like it is new. People post from work there is a special forum where you can post whatever the Hell you want.
The quote button hopefully was put back by now, that was one thing that I enforced that goes back to before sean left. Whatever it's done with and I apologize for my outburst.
I'm just gonna step away, I don't wanna bring down the site emotionally with me. I want everyone here to know that the mods, jack, myself we all want the best for you. Sometimes we get upset cause we get no feedback or sense of support. Like with the front page, the suggestion button, even the small little thing like the award thing. We do these things to get people to participate we don't do it for any other reason and when there is no participation it makes us worry cause maybe you don't care anymore.
I'm being long winded and maybe not making sense, i'm pretty sick and emotionally wound up. I just wanted to apologize, tell you I love you guys and i'll just take some time off to get back in check.
Happy new year and remember it's not just a message board, a lot of us are close. Cherish the time we have together cause one day when its gone you will all miss it. Then you'll realize it was never just a message board.
Have fun tonight, hope you're all out somewhere having fun.

Quote:Ugliest moments of 2002
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
SportsNation
1. Terry Bradshaw and Paul McCartney
We're still wretching, almost a year after their "A Hard Day's Night" duet during halftime of the Super Bowl.
2. The Ligues attack in Chicago
Thanks for giving John Ashcroft and Co. another argument for iris scanning and other Big Brother security tactics, the infamous father and son duo attacked Royals first-base coach Tom Gamboa out of nowhere.
3. Rivalry weekend football riots
For one weekend, college football fans looked just a bit like soccer fans in England.
4. Figure skating scandal
Who would have thought that public opinion about figure skating and the American-bashing French could have gone further south? Thanks to a politically-oriented, stupid scoring system and a cheating, whining judge, that's exactly what happened during the Winter Olympics.
5. Nuggets score three points in first quarter
On Nov. 27, Denver managed just three first-quarter points in a 99-68 loss to the Spurs. They shot 1-for-16 from the floor, and also set a franchise low with only 22 first-half points. "I've never seen anything like it before, it wasn't pretty," said the Spurs' David Robinson. Amazingly enough, this wasn't the Nuggets' worst offensive performance of the young season. On Nov. 16, against Detroit, they managed to score only 53 points. And in mid-December, they again scored only 22 in the first half, this time against Philly.
6. Tonya Harding vs. Paula Jones
Ugh. Remember the "Cheers" episode when someone bought Sam's Red Sox jersey in a fundraising auction, just so he wouldn't have to keep hearing about it on the air? Can we do something like that with these two? They just keep coming back. And somehow, just when you thought they couldn't possibly do any more damage to their reputations ...
7. DJ's stupid, offensive stunt
Beau Duran, a "morning radio personality" at Phoenix radio station KUPD-FM, called Darryl Kile's wife before a playoff game in Phoenix and asked her if she had a date, adding that he thought she was "hot." The tasteless prank call led to Duran's firing -- but the station didn't fire him until advertisers left the station in droves.
8. Shawn Estes vs. Roger Clemens
The anticipation was high for a knockdown pitch with Clemens at the plate against a Mets pitcher for the first time since the Mike Piazza bat-throwing incident two years prior in the World Series. And what does Estes do? Throws so far behind Clemens that the Rocket smirks back in return. We're not sure what Estes should have done, but we're sure it wasn't that.
9. Dennis Franchione's departure
It's not that Franchione left Alabama for the head coaching position at Texas A&M. It's how he left -- not only walking out on players he recruited, but delegating notice of his own departure to an assistant and the media.
10. Jose Canseco tells all
His comments during Steroids Week and his threat to write a tell-all showed the ugly side of this erratic superstar, who was given plenty of second chances in baseball.
What do you think? Good list, or are there uglier moments from this year?
