Fantasy sports trash talkin - Talk trash about your teams in here
Posted by: Gooch - 09-16-2002, 03:05 PM - Forum: SportsCenter - Replies (22)

Since we have a Football one up and running, and there is a Hockey one on tap...I figure that we could use one thread to talk shit, toot ones horn, etc.

I will toot my own horn for sitting Peyton vs. Miami, and starting Brunell instead in my non-CDIH league. Fuckin' worked like a charm.

I started Edgerrin James vs. Miami in the CDIH league b/c I figured with Peyton sucking, he'd be forced to run all game. I was right there too.

Travis Henry was a dissapointment this week...then again, Bledsoe passed all over Minn.

Suckin ass: Bubba Franks, TE Packers...2 weeks of nothin

Big fight tonight - De la hoya vs. vargas
Posted by: GonzoStyle - 09-14-2002, 09:58 PM - Forum: SportsCenter - Replies (18)

Tonight on PPV, Fernando Vargas Vs. Oscar De La Hoya, to decide who is the 154 pound king. Should be a great fight, these two guys have a unique disliking for eachother that stems back for quite a number of years. This is the last "big" fight of the year and the last one which stands a chance to win "Fight of the year" over Gatti Vs. Ward.

This is really a pick 'em type fight, I can see either one winning. But if anyone is getting knocked out it is definetly gonna be Oscar. My choice for the winner is Vargas, for 2 reasons.

1 - He hates Oscar with a passion and wants to beat him, badly.

2 - Oscars hands are in bad shape.

so Vargas by decision or late round TKO.

Dell owners watch out - What tech support didn't tell me
Posted by: SYNTuesday - 09-14-2002, 09:53 PM - Forum: Über Geek Zone - Replies (15)

Apparantly Dell likes proprietary hardware a lot, so IF YOU NEED TO REPLACE YOUR POWER SUPPLY... make sure it's Dell branded. If you hook up a Dell motherboard and non-Dell power supply, or vice versa, as soon as you turn on the power, IT WILL FRY BOTH OF THEM.

Thanks for telling me, Mr. Tech Support Guy. "Ya, you should go ahead and replace the power supply" "Thanks" "No problem, have a nice day" :disappointed:

The return of pearl jam - New cut from the upcoming album
Posted by: Is Don on the phone? - 09-14-2002, 01:25 AM - Forum: Noise Pollution - Replies (2)

AOL/Netscape gives you a free stream of the new single from the upcoming Pearl Jam album:
New Pearl Jam
Apparently due out in November, this single sounds pretty good. You can actually understand all the lyrics-how un-Vedder like! I like it, it's no "Spin the Black Circle", but it rocks in it's own emo sorta way.

enjoy!

  Ross report 09-13-02

Here are the major news and notes from this week's Ross Report:
-- Bradshaw's bicep injury was suffered during his Raw match this week and will put him out of action for four to six months. Bradshaw had surgery on Tuesday with Dr. Andrews performing it.

-- Sean O'Haire has a torn muscle which will require around six weeks to heal.

-- Jazz could be cleared to wrestle in about two weeks.

-- Rhyno is looking like he will be in line for a November return but will probably in OVW for a few weeks before joining WWE.

-- Ivory, Bill DeMott and Al Snow will be returning to the active rosters soon as they will have completed Tough Enough 3.

-- Three new developmental contracts were finalized this week, and their names will be announced next week.

-- Also signed to a contract is Wes Brisco (son of Jerry Brisco) to a sponsorship deal this season for the Pro Wakeboard Tour.

-- A few more youngsters at OVW will be called up in the near future.

-- WWE has not made any contacts to Scott Steiner and there are no plans of such anytime soon. Scott may be able to work a part-time schedule, but it is of some question.

-- There are also no talks scheduled with Bill Goldberg or his agent, Barry Bloom.

Florida terrorist threat a hoax - No shit sherlock
Posted by: OAS - 09-13-2002, 08:50 PM - Forum: The Pit - Replies (35)

It appears that the riveting story about authorities possibly intercepting terrorists on their way to attack Miami was just a hoax.

Three men of Arab decent apparently started making up a story about bringing something down on the 13th in Miami because a waitress kept looking at them suspiciously and was trying to eaves drop on their conversations. Since they were stopped early this morning, police have been meticulously searching for explosives in their vehicles, even peeling away door panels to look for explosives.

Governor Jeb Bush says if it is a hoax he will push the DA to prosecute the men for their prank.

Hello! Fucking Hello. Even I realized right from the beginning this was fishy. They are in a Shoney's restaurant in Georgia, speaking ENGLISH about their plans. Would terrorists discuss their plans in English in public? They are US citizens, and med students. Yes, dogs picked up a scent of explosives or accelerants around the car. I got a hundred bucks that says that had emergency road flares in their trunk. Flares are made of fire accelerants.

Maybe Dubya's stupid brother Jeb ought to spend more time worrying about how corrupt his state election system is and stop trying to help his brother look good.

Oh and Jeb, it is not illegal to talk in generalities in a restaurant to get someone that is trying to listen to your conversation all worked up.

I think 3 men of Arab decent are about to get very rich.
