I was watching news one night while in this horrible town of Buffalo. I call it a town, and not a city, because this place is merely a location where people happen to live. Any organization that attempts to make this look like a city is preposterous. Anyway, the top news story, top news story, in a shit town like Buffalo, where the crime and murder rate is terrible, where there are no jobs, no central industry or economic boon, no downtown, the top story was... a new Bass Pro store. IN FUCKING TORONTO! TORONTO! Imagine if on the 5 o'clock Eyewitness News in NYC, if the top story was a Wal-Mart opening in Boston, what would that tell you about the city you live in?
The big story was that a Bass Pro store, which I didn't even know existed, had just opened in Toronto, and that they MIGHT build a Bass Pro store in Buffalo. Not even WILL build, MIGHT build. THIS IS THE FUCKING STORY! This town has like the shittiest economy in the fuckin nation, and the big story is a whole new retailer, specifically a BASS FUCKING FISHING RETAILER, just MIGHT decide to open a store and sell their crap in Buffalo.
I hate this fucking town.

N.J. Town Sees Prestige in a Name Change
Wed Nov 17, 5:29 AM ET U.S. National - AP
By WAYNE PARRY, Associated Press Writer
SOUTH BELMAR, N.J. - When some people hear the name South Belmar, the first images that pop to mind are rowdy summer vacationers or drunken college kids screaming at the top of their lungs at 4 a.m.
Even though most of those excesses are more common in neighboring Belmar, residents of this tiny borough to the south get tarred with the same brush. So they decided to abandon their town's name.
On Election Day, residents voted to rename the community Lake Como, returning the area to its early 1900s roots while instantly boosting property values. One real estate agent estimated the new name could be worth an extra 15 percent to 20 percent on the price of most homes here.
"It's more attractive, more meaningful to have your own name rather than being known as south of somewhere," said Paul Heaney, owner of Paul's Tavern in South Belmar.
Not everyone is wild about the switch, though. Some say they'll miss the identity they grew up with; others say Lake Como sounds too pretentious for a borough with a strong blue collar streak.
"It's been South Belmar for years; why change it now?" asked Cindy Martinez. "If you tell people where you live and you say `Lake Como, they say, `Where the hell is that, Pennsylvania?'"
The area was known as Como in the early 1900s, and had its own post office and train station. It later became part of Wall Township before incorporating itself as South Belmar in 1924.
Of course, the area bears little resemblance to the other Lake Como — a massive lake in northern Italy favored by European vacationers who visit the tiny villages in the foothills of the Alps.
Robert Kirk, a longtime resident who spearheaded the name change campaign, said the character of the one-fifth square mile borough is changing even if its image isn't. More property owners are fixing up homes and year-round residents are increasing.
"You wouldn't believe how many people don't know we're our own town," he said. "I know one girl here who nearly didn't get married because she went to Belmar borough hall to get her marriage license instead of South Belmar. She didn't even know we're our own town."
Of the 679 residents who weighed in on the name change, 379 supported it, while 300 were opposed. The switch should become official in a month or so, after the election results are certified and paperwork is received and filed.
The borough's business community actively backed the name-change campaign and pledged to pay the entire $18,000 cost of switching street signs, government letterhead, police badges and related expenses.
Ken Pringle, Belmar's mayor, said he's not offended by his neighbors wanting their own identity, even while noting that Belmar has taken steps to crack down on rentals where rowdy tenant behavior has become a problem.
"Whatever the residents of South Belmar want to do is fine with us. I can certainly understand a town wanting to have its own identity," Pringle said.

I just found out my company has been overpaying me for the last 5 months.
My boss pointed it out, and doesn't believe me that I don't pay attention to checks that get direct deposited into my brokerage account.

johngalt.blogspot.com IS NOT ME!
My name is not Matty French
My AIM is not 911themusical (what kind of fucking insanity is that)
I'm not a faggot like that kid.
However, when I heard about all these blogs, I figured that someone would have a blog named after John Galt, and this was the first one I guessed at. I put the blog in my profile, I put the AIM address in, I said my name was Matty French, I was just hoping that someone would go on my profile and "out" me (I was praying it was Arpi) but no one did. So then when Gonzo mentioned blogs, I just dropped it in there. But even when I did, I wasn't really raked over the coals for it. No one mocked the posts or anything. I was really upset.
It's really eerie that the kid is from New York is in his late 20s and is a Sox fan.
It's not me. I swear to God.
PS. I was on the subway today and I noticed for the first time that the map of Greater New York looks like male genitals. Manhattan is a flacid penis and Brooklyn is the testicles.
However, rest assured I am not now, nor will I ever be a blogger.

I am starting this thread.
I'm playing GTA last night and at about 3:30am my cell phone goes off and I go to pick it up and who does it says is calling? My pal Pat!!!
I was so excited, I picked up and he was ordering mcdonalds and let me listen in as he went through the drive-thru.
The I told him about the time I told my mother I wanted to fuck her and we loffed and loffed.
Then we discussed what new dvds we had purchased and then he said I wasn't giving him anything to work with and he'd call me back later and if he didn't that I was to start a thread and call him a lying scumbag.
so, alkey, you're a lying scumbag.... I kept on staring at that damn phone waiting and waiting, I kept on flipping it open to make sure it was on and checking is my ringer was on.... I even called my cell phone from my home phone to make sure it worked.... AND YOU NEVER CALLED!!!
