| O&A Board Veteran Registered: Jan. 01  | I have a little rant here....and I want EVERYONE to read this. As was said many times before, this thread was started as a Working thread by K1d Africa. It has since turned into a Slacking thread by natural board evolution. Since then, it's turned more into a general chat thread, but the core of posters remains to be people that are slacking at work. I have been reading some posts throughout the board lately, and spoken with some people in IM's who seem to think that this has become an elitist club. IT IS NOT! This thread is open to anyone that want's to post in here. People keep bitching about rules of the slacker thread and yelling at people that come in here to post if they are not slacking, but...we have no right. We cannot turn this into a "private" thread. There are no other "private" topics on the board (except of course for "Behind The Scenes" ;-)) and there should never be. Anyone that is trying to make this thread elitist is, as far as I'm concerned, Not Welcomed. If the majority of the people in this thread disagree with me, then I will be the one to leave. If not, then the people that are trying to make this thread elite or private should change their thinking or leave. There seems to be a thought amongst the board that the SLACKERS are a private clique. IT'S NOT. I have to agree with gilligan on his rant. Anyone who wants to post, can. Working or not. Male, female, or otherwise. Age is irrelevant. Yes it was started as a workers thread but now people seem to think that it's exclusively for people that are at work. That IS how is started but like all good things, it changes over time. If there is anyone amongst us who can't accept this, then in the words of ROOKIE - Adapt or Die! My rant is done. and So am I. I've got meetings all day today (it's friday, isn't it?). Anyone who took offense to this post, deal with it. They call me Grumpy for a reason. I don't want to catch shit for stupidity or ignorance. We're part of a community of over 12,000 people, brought together by a common interest and developing stronger friendships, if that's what the people involved want. The only difference between the get together this time and all others is that it is not board sanctioned and people were actually organizing something because for some strange reason, they just wanted to hang out, but it is still for the benefit of board members.
